PC and Laptop GAMER ALERT

I just got reminded, by a friend, that some of us have to be reminded to check out A New Game's System Requirement's before we buy a new computer for PC type gaming. It does matter! Whether or not it is a Personal computer or a Laptop PC.

Wake Up. All you tech support out there. It is time to give the young a word of guidance so they can enjoy the game when it reaches the installation steps before they buy it and find out they only need to tweak their computer by adding an extra bit of RAM or buy a step up Video Card.

REMEMBER To:

Check the System Requirement's on the Games Official Website, before you buy or preorder.

That is, if you want your computer to be prepared for the day the game arrives on the shelf or to download.

At least

At least, remember to look and read System Requirements on the box when you are at the store before you buy the game to see if your computer meet's the regular level of requirement's. If not the Recommended System Requirement's.

I wonder if this is why so many PC gamers switched to console gaming? If it is they are missing out on a lot of splendid mod's that only PC Gamer's get to make.

Is it possible to mod for XBOX360 or PS3 now?

In all fairness, many laptops have the graphics card soldered in. It requires a lot of work just to switch one (if its not specifically a gaming laptop the keyboard and monitor+casing may even have to be opened up). I have heard of people upgrading hardware on the original Xbox which is really impressive (hush hush, console modding isn't supposed to be spoken of here ) , and is even more work than upgrading a regular store purchased laptop. Desktops also may be too old to upgrade. If you have to change your motherboard you may as well just buy/build a new computer in most cases.

Most of this sort of thing is really because the average person has little understanding about what sort of hardware capability they have. When you're talking about laptops, it becomes even more obscured by the fact that similar spec videocards or even processors don't work the same way, especially with the new generation of tablet laptops which have tablet variant components that are more limited to lower power costs and heat generation. Then there is the whole part of shared RAM verses dedicated RAM and how these perform very differently depending on what you're trying to do.

And all this will change again once tablets and even phones start having more power than the previous generation's laptops. Sure, custom desktop PCs can still blow everything else out of the water, but when most games are being made for consoles or tablets, most of that extra performance isn't going to be used.
