I've played the game for a couple of hours and there's heavy amount of sound stuttering, not to mention that the volume of the game is low (i have maxed sound in skyrim and I still need to manually increase the speaker volume beyond the limit at which I usually keep it to make the game more audible). Even though that's annoying, the real problem is the sound stuttering. More than 50% - 60% of the time, whenever any npc would speak, stuttering and sounds similar to static would interfere. That also applies to music.

I've read that other people have the same problem and I'm wondering if someone has a workaround.

I'd like to know this as well.
I don't get the sound stuttering, but the volume is very low.

Maybe this is related to the audio frequency bug that seems to be crashing people's games? There are a few threads on this forum about it if you want to check it out.

I get low volume too, but no stuttering. Different problems I'd say.

For volume, you might just have to crank your speakers up. I haven't really bothered trying to fix it yet. Turning my volume up is enough so far.

For stuttering... hmm... One thing that often helps in games is turning off hardware acceleration for sound. I don't really remember how to do that though... It has been a while since I had to... I think it is through DXDiag. Try pressing Windows Key + R (opens the Run menu), type in dxdiag and press enter. Try to find an option in there to alter for sound (disabling hardware acceleration if possible). See if that helps (if it exists).

Yeah the game seems to be at about half volume for me. It's very annoying. My sound setup requires that everything be on the highest possible volume for me to even hear it at all (hearing disability), and I'm using an Astro MixAmp to make it louder, so I'm pretty much at the highest volume possible without hooking up multiple amps >.>

In case you missed the other thread about low sound volume, I posted a quick and easy workaround there.

I have the same problem.
I've had similar problems with other games before, so I just did my regular quick workaround which helps a lot:

1. Go to 'Playback devices' in Windows. (right-click the Volume icon next to Window's clock.)
2. Select your default audio device and click the 'Properties' button.
3. Go into the 'Enhancements' tab and check "Loudness Equalization".
4. Press 'OK' and 'OK'.

So basically this "enhancement" makes so that Windows automatically boost low volume sounds and lower loud sounds.

I did not know that Windows had an option to normalize sound output. Thanks for filling me in on this.

I was really looking forward to play this game, but I have the exact same problem. I can barely hear what people are saying to me and I have everything maxed. I don't suffer from stuttering though, just the very low volume.

I've tried iTylon's workaround, but it doesn't help at all.

I hope Bethesda will fix this very soon.. or that we'll find a workaround that works. I want to play this game :x
