Well this is kind of embarising, but what is the main quest??

The main quest is the series of missions given to you by Cauis Cosades, and then leads to many branches of missions from various factions.

All this is leading up to your re-incarnation as a Dunmer hero and your destiny to defeat Dagoth Ur, the villain of the game.

Play the quests and find out.

I strongly recommend everyone who has any question on quests to check out the UESP site. It gives a detailed analysis of every quest.

Silvuru, if you did as requested when you arrived at Seyda Neen and took the package to Caius Cosardes and agreed to follow his orders, you are on the main quest. You find out what it is as you go along. It ends when you defeat Dagoth Ur and get a visit from Azura. However there is no requirement to get involved with Dagoth Ur at all. Also if you wish to deal with him but don't feel like joining the Blades you can beat the game without recourse to the so called 'main quest'.

Of the 360 odd quests it is possible to do in any one game only about 30 relate to the 'main quest'.
