Description: Whenever I cast a flame spell on an enemy (it is a mudcrab in the pic) the fire shows up but there is also a black square surrounding it like a texture tile. I'm not sure how to fix this.
My specs:
AMD Phenom II 6x 1100T
Radeon Saphire HD 6800 series
4 GB
It seems to do this on whatever settings I put the game on. Any way to fix this? Is there a patch?

I am running an HD6950 and found the only way to cure this was to remove the "atiumdag.dll" from my root Skyrim folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\) I believe this is a specific fix for ATI cards maybe regarding Crossfire? It seems however that the new drivers have negated this.dll for the most part, leaving you free to remove it.
I would suggest renaming the file to atiumdag.dll.bak first just in case you have any issues but this cleared my fire squares up nicely.
Hope it helps.

I use a gtx 770 4gb. I am getting this problem as well. I can't seem to find a way to adjust the 3D optimizer for msi afterburner or EVGA precision X. I have almost got the game working save for this little detail.

I have the exact same bug as the OP. Black textures around the target when using the flame spell. Can anybody help?

I'm having this same issue with two GTX 780M's in SLI. I'm also running the RealVision ENB and it seems by setting bFloatPointRenderTarget=0 in my SkyrimPrefs.ini it fixes the issue. Unfortunately doing so also disables a lot of the ENB effects, so I'm guessing there's a conflict between my graphics cards and the ENB somewhere, but I have no idea how to resolve it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
