I'm currently on the Elder Knowledge quest an have encountered a bug that has broken the quest for me and I can't fix it.

I showed up to Winterhold and went inside a house or store. I was automatically attacked by an aggressive Red Guard.

I killed him and went out side. I walked toward the bridge to the College of Winterhold and was attacked by Faralda.

I beat her. Once her health regenerates she is automatically aggressive towards me again.

I fast traveled away and back to Winterhold and approached the bridge again. This time her dialogue initiated but after I stop talking to her to either heal her or show her a Dragonborn power she is just aggressive again I can't talk to her. She won't attack me now, but she will just stand there listed as aggressive making it impossible for me to speak with her.

How can I fix this? Is there a console command to make her not aggressive or something? "stopcombat" doesn't work. The combat stops for a second and she immediately becomes aggressive again and red on the radar.

If its anything like fallout, you just have to wait for 3 days(game time) or a little longer and her status will reset,
I suggest you go after other quests and come back later.

I haven't had the opportunity to try this out yet but I'll give it a shot. Is there a console command to make an npc no longer hostile/aggressive because some weird things were happening in the interface (press e to talk, etc. would show up even though she was hostile/attacking me) so I think it might be a bug.

It's essentially broken the main quest for me right now since I can't get into the College of Winterhold.

you could try disabling, then reenabling her or EvaluatePackage.

I've been attacked by Faralda, haven't seen the Redguard, though. Spent almost 10 minutes killing and re-killing her because I thought she was supposed to be aggressive, but to no avail. She kept getting up. Tried leaving town & coming back, still aggressive. I don't want to use the console commands, but will if there's no fix for this.

Ah well. Guess I'll go do other quests & keep track of this bug, in case there are more people that can turn aggressive.

Try the time wait for a few days and see if it clears up. hang ouit in a inn and wait it out.
