Basically, like the title says. the ini got a couple changes from me (turning on the tree and object shadows) but that isn't showing up in game. and yes, the .ini has been saved without a location or name change.

I also have a secondary problem. I prefer my FOV to be around 80. I have to go into the console and type "fov 80" each time I start up. This also seems to make the kill animations go weird too. The dragon kill especially is off, the one where you jump on his head and stab him.

First off, go to the properties of the ini and make sure it is not read only. If it is, uncheck it.

Secondly, there are three ini files. One in the steam folder and two in the save game folder. Which one did you edit?

the file is not set to read only. I am editing the SkyrimPrefs.ini in the My documents/My Games/Skyrim folder.

Sorry, letter between j and l not woring on my eyboard

For certain applications, all three ini files have to match. Might duplicate it in all three ini files.

Also, mae sure you have administrative privledges otherwise it might not allow editing. With some applications you can right clic and run as administrator too

Thats all i now, wish i could be of more help.
