My brother has a Radeon HD 6770 1GB DDR5. It's about a $100 card, and it runs Skyrim nicely on high settings with 4x AA and AF at 50-60 fps.

I have a $130 GTX 460 768MB DDR5. It's listed under high/very high for Skyrim on this site, but I'm nervous about how it'll run Skyrim. I'm fine as long as it will run Skyrim at least as well as the Radeon HD 6770 because that's what I've grown used to seeing.

Other than that, the differences between our PCs are quite small.
What do you think? How will my GTX 460 stack up against the HD 6770?

The 460 is the better card, it should perform better than the 6770.

I am running a 1GB version of the 460 OC and I run everything pretty solid at ultra with ini tweaks for better graphics.

Nice! :)
Now I don't have to regret buying it!

The 1GB is better, of course, but I don't need ultra at the moment. I just upgraded from a PS3, and pc graphics are absolutely amazing by comparison, even on medium or high settings. I watched the hd Skyrim trailer like seven times in a row just gaping at the graphics.

It was like the day I switched from my PS2 to the PS3.

Hold up!!!!!! I got the same card as your brother. Does he have mouse lag??? Because I stopped playing the game because of it (I run the game at 55-65 fps as well).

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I've played on his pc a bit. It has very minor mouse lag. I didn't think it was a big problem; it was so minor it never really prevented me from doing anything. It made me miss while bow sniping a couple times, but that was the exception rather than the rule.
