I like the idea here, but most forts don't have very much room for whole other buildings inside. For smaller stuff like blacksmiths or general recruiting, I think it could work. But to what end? The problem with houses is they serve no function other than storage, and you can store your stuff anywhere. The metagame aspect of taking over other forts could make it worthwhile, though.

I think one of the ideas could be to expand the fort itself (this could have i time period like one of the farmland areas in oblivion where after you help out each time you go there it gets more and more complete until it is don

houses may just be used for NPC's not for you as you would have a fort to live in

Defiinately a personal fort would be awesome... also all the house carls or w/e there called.. and your wife/husband and all other followers able to or force to hang out there and treat like there home... include random sieges from bandits trying to take over the fort... maybe have some stronger depending on your level bandit camps that you and your multiple follower army can siege and take over or just destroy... i think the game is missing a team sieging part such as stormcloaks vs imperials or something... like a good 10+ person team vs the other spread through the city maybe have a large fort of 15+ enemys that respawn over time...

in short forts w/siege mode or fort vs fort...

I think the original price should be more than 7,000 – it is a castle, after all, even if a derelict one.

I’ll just put in my two cents and say that after you’ve made a certain number of improvements to the castle/fort, a few quests start to happen there – a siege by bandits, say, who want revenge because you took over their hideaway. One of the servants actually works for the thieves’ guild and you have to figure out what to do with her. Even better, someone attempts to assassinate you in your chambers (lol, with your wife/husband freaking out while you try to grab a weapon and fight back…) and there’s a whole quest around that – maybe your steward has betrayed you? I know nothing about modding but heck, I like to write and I wouldn’t mind helping someone come up with quest details.

Also, servants calling you and your wife/husband “my lord/my lady” would be epic.

Perhaps add a war fuction, allowing you to raid the castles of other "Lords", once you capture the Keep you could hire a Steward. The steward then gives you the quest needed to rebuild the keep and add stuff. Once you've got a few guards you can tell him taht you wish to attack another lord. You and your soldiers are teleported outside some other keep and charge in. ;)

Castlerebuild + war of nobleman... sounds great indeed...

with mods like these you could play skyrim for a long time without getting bored...

All mods creating a 'more real divers scientific fantasy world' are endorsed by me...

I dont know about you guys but I'd like to keep my own prisoners too :D

I'd sure like to ransom or behead my prisoners too :O

It would be interesting if towers could be rebuilt into forts, forts into towns, etc, basically an urbanisation of the game world

achieved through

a) conquering - bringing enemy territories under control

b) rebuilding and expansion - perhaps link it to crafting somehow, mining, logging?, hire NPCs to harvest while protecting them, link the dungeons/mines to fort expansion, fort expansion depending on local resources or having to escort raw materials from other destinations back to your fort [random ideas...]

c) armouring - hiring an army and equipping them for each fort

d) defending - defending forts against sieges (imagine 50 giants and 100 mammoth vs your army :) )

Of course a well thought out storyline for each fort/area would compliment this well
