Why would you want a 3rd party mod program when the creation kit whenever its out is what the game itself was made with. If there was any 3rd party software it would be awful in comparison.

It would not at all be surprising to find out that Beth has been throwing all their resources at the patch. Currently, the PS3 version of the game takes a huge nosedive in framerates on some PS3s when the save file gets above 5.3mb. As the save game file gets bigger, the game becomes a flipping slideshow, completely unplayable. This usually happens after 16-20 hours of gameplay. So all you PC users, no need to *censored* so much about not being cared for, PS3 users really got the shaft on this release and it sounds like PC might be the most stable release.

Yes, you can build a cheap gaming rig, but you can also buy a ps3 for 200 and not have to worry about setting it up etc. Its people's choice, not everyone wants to learn about building computers just to play games, nor should they have to. Bottom line, if you release a product, make sure it works or at least try to fix it. Nature of the programming business is that it takes time, so while they have all their resources on making the game playable for a portion of their market, things like the creation kit may have to wait a bit.

Personally, I think Bethsoft could have been more forthright in admitting their mistake and addressing the issue in a transparent manner. However, they have chosen to take the lawyered up route with vague blanket statements. Still, if this patch actually addresses this PS3 issue, kudos to Bethsoft for fixing the game so quickly so at least PS3 users can enjoy it.

Thankfully, my sometimes lacking memory saved my butt this time, as I preordered both PS3 and PC. The PS3 version came in the mail, I played it like mad on release weekend before hitting the brick wall. Got all pissed off, then when the mail came on Monday, the PC version showed up and I totally forgot I ordered it a while back.. haha.

Uhh, Steam just updated Skyrim on my machine. There are no patch notes available. Could this be the patch?

Nope, that update did nothing except disallow TESV.exe from running Skyrim without Steam.

Yup, it just updated the game EXE which is 18.6 MB, I've had to re apply the CFF explorer large address aware mod to it, no patch notes or anything so I think its just steam interfering (I may be wrong though), and I also had steam set to "NOT UPDATE THE GAME".

Offline mode here we come, I'll decide when changes are made, thank you steam.

NTCore's 4GB Patcher causes Steam Error 51 with the new update. Shame.
I'm reverting back to the old executable.

I don't mind that they've made it require Steam, I mind the method they used.
If they actually put the Steam check in TESV.exe itself and they didn't just make TESV.exe launch the launcher first I wouldn't mind.
I just want 4GB patcher to work.

I mind that they don't give a brass razoo about whether or not they trash our PC's with their buggy trash patch.

I fail to see how this update is going to trash any PC's...
