just crashed again, and trees are purple in some areas. paying 60 bucks for a broken game is not good. money is hard to comeby.

@ the crimsonblade

do a verify of your local files through steam. i have found, on my system at least, the game files continually become corrupted leading to frequent CTD. there also seems to be something related to save game size too but not sure yet.

It's a fair safe bet to say that, somehow, not all Skyrims are installed/run equal on every computer. Some seem to get way more bugs than others, oddly. I've only had a sudden crash to desktop (with no error-message or anything, somehow) and a tent go that revolting "Hi, I'm a missing texture!"-pink over quite a lot of gameplay. However, I still hope we get that patch of theirs sooner than later. Just in case...

As for the creation kit... It's an awful lot of power they will be bestowing upon their players, a great tool with great possibilities. As such, I'm prepared to be patient with it, since I imagine it's a bit of a little nightmare to ensure it'll run on a non-developer everyday computer and everything. While I can hardly wait, them concentrating on the patch first seems a good descision to me, at least.

REALLY hope it solves my problem with pink textures, random ctdss, ctd's at loading screens, and world model parts disappearing randomly.
my record is 2h without a crash :/

A creation kit is coming out. But, by the nines, have some patience. It's like the people complaining have nothing to do all day long but sit by the pc's refreshing the Bethsoft site.

Maybe it's because I got a crappy laptop and have to jury rig games to play them. But I had a fun time already just wandering around and playing the game without worrying about glitches, meshes or bugs. It's a Bethsoft game, and it's almost a tradition now.

I bought the game through Steam and on my X-Box. The game don't like my laptop, but that's ok. I'm keeping it as a place holder until taxes come back and I can buy/build a better rig. At least something that's better than my crappy nine year old Gateway....Which played Oblivion just fine, thank you very much.

As for the UI, other than the fact that you can't see your character when you're changing EQ, I have no problems with it on either x-box or PC. I got used to it. Though, I wonder how it will look if we Darnify it!

And definitely get some loading screen mods. It seems to me that they repeat the same paragraphs, sentences and images over and over and over and..... Yeah.

In closing, I would like to say that I fully enjoy this game already and patiently going to wait to see what is going to be on the GotY edition.

See, I would love to just play the game, but with constant texture issues (or entire zone landscapes missing) as well as an hourly CTD, I am finding it impossible to enjoy playing quests or doing anything other than just starting a new character and doing it all again, maybe a little different. This was fixed by the mods that allowed Skyrim to see all 4gb+ of memory, but then Steam messed that up by patching it to not allow detection for higher end systems. The save file size thing seems to be an issue, just like back in Morrowind...

At this point I just want a Creation Kit so that people can split up the work of fixing it and actually get some good patches out. These games are like new operating systems, tons of issues at first, but they get there eventually and can do it a lot faster with help.

For everyone having major CTD or texture issues, it isn't the game, it's your machine. If you look at the ratio of people saying they have problems compared to those that don't, it obviously isn't the game. Hundreds of thousands of PC users are playing Skyrim and few have major problems. Try a completely clean install with no mods, or try turning the graphics settings down. If that doesn't work, you might need to do a fresh install of your entire OS. Just don't blame Bethesda. In my opinion this is by far their most bug free vanilla game compared to previous Elder Scrolls titles and the Fallout games.

Yes, there are bugs, and yes, some folks have the occasional CTD. Personally, I went over 50 hours without a CTD on my medium-spec PC, but after getting Shadowmere last night I decided to just take a ride throughout Skyrim and see the sites. Unfortunately, I started getting a CTD every few minutes of riding, which is an issue I saw someone else had. Frustrating, but it will get fixed.

In the words of the great American poet Axl Rose, "all we need is just a little patience". ;)

@walrus2517

it is ironic because the people w/ the problems are the people with super machines xD.

btw, to your quote, axl rose has been a jerk lately. he is just singing for the money now and cares little for his fans. i bet he doesn't really care for that song anymore, other than the money it would bring him even if he arrived 2 hours late to a concert. besides, he is the only original member of gnr still in that band. he ousted everyone.
