•General functionality fixes related to remapping buttons and controls (PC)

Right... now 1/2 my keys don't work... and most menus are unuseable.

The patch seems like it didn't do it's job for most of the people who applied it. I myself haven't applied it, but that is through personal experience. The game as is, is running smoothly for me, sure after hours of playing the loading times start to drag on but a restart fixes that. In the 3 weeks of playing it's only CTD 2 times on me. I do have a (radiant)bounty quest bug where no marker shows up and the map focuses on an empty stretch of land. I had the Esbern bug but fixed it myself(UESP had a quick fix for it). I applied a mod that fixed some sort of texture rendering issues(I couldn't see the lights in the Revealing the Unseen quest) which ended up showing me a lot more animations I had been missing and didn't even know it, lol, and I applied the LAA mod. I have encountered a few other radiant quest bugs one noticeably where I was told to kill a bandit leader and the marker in the tower was pointing to the previously slain leader of a certain group of altmer thieves, but using the resurrect command fixed that. I have had a few dragons swoop down like they were going to attack but didn't it kinda ticked me off but eventually I just got bored and moved on while spouting obscenities and threatining the worms as I left, lol. I plan on waiting til the next patch or two come out before I update, or the CK is released whichever comes first. I feel for those who have unplayable games or encounter continuous crashes as I have been there myself before, but apparently the days of having a finished game released is over with and all of us who get games on, or close to release ARE the beta testers ;)

Meh, Skyrim beta testers are too busy speedrunning the game to win competitions:

They should have a "Find the most bugs" award :wallbash:
Much more productive

To be honest I've seen worst patches, notably EA's Sims 3 patches, they keep breaking the game. One thing I do hate about steam is how it forces the patching process whenever you run it online. Hence as a habit I run everything offline, I like to control the changes in my machine.

You can turn off automatic patches if you don't like them.

@Machomuu from what I understand, if you launch the game with any sort of online-connection it auto-updates. I saved all the original executable's and .BSA's so I am good. The .BSA is huge, but the executable isn't, so in the future definitely back that up and save it ;)

For me, with the update, I got HUNDREDS of vanilla texture errors (but my game was heavily retextured) and moving into a new cell was CTD (meaning I had to constantly save over and over)... I never even got to see a dragon with the new patch.

Steam totally hi-jacks the process.. It's to be expected, and I still love Bethesda and TES, but a part of me wishes these patches would go smoother.

@totalwarman I totally agree... it's like the whole Apple mindset of operation. "We made it, so you don't worry about your file management." Thanks Steam. Thanks a lot. /sarcasm

I just got done messing with the Update and it was a No go CTD after loading Saves. Pretty Sure it was Because of my Mods that Require greater than 2GB RAM usage. So I Opened TESV.exe with CFF and Changed the file header to allow Great than 2GB Usage and now it runs fine; Dragons Fly in the Right direction and perforance is more or less 1.1. I still Can't Complete Nightgale Quest Darkeness Returns. Most noticable Bug for me is elemental Resistance is gone. (Ex. I can Kill Flame Atronach with Fire)

Hopefully these things are Adrressed soon.

Probably the biggest bug that bothers me is storing things.. and I am wondering if it's just me.. I thought it was Hard Coded Tweaks, but I doubt it.. I can't store anything with the "R" button....

Very very frustrating. =/

Is anyone else having a non-responsive "R" (take all/store into container) bug?
Hah.. that's more frustrating than my game crashing every cell change.
I wish I was competent at scripting.. I would mod this myself sigh...

For the people having the problem with the missing .exe file...I actually found out that for whatever reason, if you have Steam, the download may have been interrupted. This is what worked for me:

Go into your Steam library and right click Skyrim.
Go to properties.
Go to the Local Files tab.
Select verify intergity of Game Cache.

This will get steam to redownload any missing files, and/or patch the game properly.

Also my save games were not loading either but I use a save game manager and realized that because the patch resets a lot of general options to default, I had to reload the character profile I wanted in the manager again before it would register in the game.

I read enough. I'm not going to update it, until CK be launched. Or show alternatives that don't seem to bug it more. I suggest the same, for Bethesda's sake. They profited, crowned the TES 5 Skyrim Game Of Year. It's their duty to fix this damning worsening, number of bug. Seems insane to release the game the way it is, they maybe thought that 11.11.11 would be a cool time to release it. A few quests, frustrating UI (Doesn't even show us if we belong a faction or Rank. I am more the Oblivion UI). Some good-looking spells. Annoying AI, poorly made quests. If I write all my disappointments, It would end a book. Of course, Skyrim is not an deception, it is good, had about 74+ hours; of game, I've ended the Main Quest, with help of fixes, of course. I didn't see many bugs though, it is enough to avoid update now. I'll have to wait, and I daresay you all should do the same, until the CK come. Or an trustworthy Update come.

Sincerely,

DG.
