Logitech G510/G15/G19 App?

Hello!

For those who have no idea what i even mean by the topic title: These Logitech keyboards have LCDs on them, making them quite useful for computer- or game-information while you're ingame. Some games don't really need it at all, like Dragon Age Origins, others could have very helpful information, just like Skyrim.

I'm not really sure if this applies as a Skyrim mod, because it really isn't a mod... so, sorry if this is already in the completely wrong section.

There was an app for Oblivion and I'm kinda missing that for Skyrim. I'm not sure if Logitech itself will add that, chances are pretty low, and even if, it would probably just suck anyway. What i would like to have on it is the current ingame time, the amount of money you have, and the typical numbers (health, magicka, stamina). If someone knows how to do that i would really appreciate that.

Again sorry if this is totally wrong here, i just saw the app for Oblivion on Nexus, so yeah :|

I thought the game maker had to allow logitech to access their game somehow. Maybe that's just MMO's though. I would love an app for the G19 but I have no idea how to make them. I've got the SDK files(Logitech gave us these with the original disc) if anyone wants them to poke around with though. Just let me know.

Had some issues with my keyboard (G19) so I went to the logitech site to check my drivers... redownloaded the Game Manager software or whatever it's called... It claims it supports skyrim now as one of the profiles, although I haven't seen the LCD update while I'm playing nor do I see skyrim in the available profiles to select.

Nope. Regrettably, Logitech does NOT supply LCD display profile stuff for the games. That support has to come from the game developer. They will work with *any* game developer to help them hook into the right stuff to get that kind of display information into the LCD (I've got a G510 keyboard, myself), but it has to come from the developer. So, if you want display information support for your gaming display, you need to start hounding Bethesda to put in a patch that detects and supports gaming keyboards/pads for the PC. Either that, or a helpful modder with a Logitech keyboard can take advantage of the free C++ LCD SDK they provide with every installation of the game software and create one that way. :-)

When they announce that they've added a new game profile, they're strictly talking about the keystroke macro profiles.

The information regarding this and why they themselves won't directly create a LCD access into a game is located here.

I had a problem with that, too. :-) While I've got a G510 keyboard, I'm guessing the gaming software interface for the G19 may be similar, so I'll post what I did for mine; hopefully, that'll point you in the right direction.

In the software display, I clicked on the "Customize G-Keys" item to bring up the key arrangements and profile display. In the Profiles section, there's a "+" that's used to add a new profile. When you hover the mouse just below that, a little downward-pointing arrow appears. Click on that, and a "Scan for New Games" option appears. Select that, and then a list will come up showing the games it has gaming keyboard macros profiles for, and any that it detects in your system will be already selected. Click ok and it adds them to the profile list for you to select from. Then proceed from there as usual select the profile you want and to assign the various functions to the various keyboard buttons as normal.

HTH.

Maybe it requires you to completely reinstall the keyboard. Clean it out of your registry and what not. Has worked for me with many other hardware devices. Except usb controllers...those things seem to hate me.

I had an old one but the LCD lost functionality and something was screwy with a few of the keys, but I'd like to buy a new one because the feature is actually very nice. Kinda one of those things you almost can't do without once you've had it, shoo'no?

But this is more than do-able for people with the know how and the time. I'd really like to see something fixed, at least.
