I played Morrowind up until the release of Skyrim, and now with the wonderful patch 1.2 I can't do anything. So until Bethesda gets their crap straight I wanted to go back to Morrowind, but when I load the game up all the walls, ceilings, and floors are see-through and my character doesn't have a face. I tried reinstalling the game but nothing happens. The last thing I did before leaving Morrowind was download a texture mod like thing. The name of it escapes me, but it replaced all the textures in the game and made the game have a "darker" feel to it. I suspect this is what messed up the game.

I don't think it's the texture mod that messed it up. I tried re-installing twice and I still have the same problem.

never the less disable the texture mod first if the problem is solved well ti solved
if not
have you added anything in the last couple of weeks ?
any updates new drivers any new mods ? games dont just break like that there has to be a reason
if everything else fails
reinstall the whole of morrowind without mods if the problem persists there is something with your game and your set up and its probably a d river or direct x problem ( unlikely )

if the problem has dissapread your mods are too blame
but first turn off that texture mod to see if that is or isnt the problem

I have re-installed twice without the mod and both times the problem reappeared. I believe it could be a driver but I'm not sure which one. I installed to the same place each time I re-installed, it didn't give me an option to change the directory.

how odd

have you patched the game yet or is it the goty version ?

before we go on do you have acces to another computer ? if so install morrowind on that and see if the same behavior exhibits on that
if it does its the game
if it doesnt it is most likley a driver

its very unlikley it is the game but might as wel get that possibility out of the way before you start messing with your drivers

It's Game of the Year Edition. And I'm installing it on my laptop right now.

One thing I noticed was that the installer automatically chooses my install directory and won't let me change it.

Well I tried installing it to a different directory and still had the same problem. I'll try installing it to my external hard drive. If it's not that then it must be a problem with my computer.

This is what is happening.
