Finishing replaced animations with their respective items

If I were to replace one animation with another, say idle with drinking, the mug isn't present. I don't suppose any hero would know of a way to make the character react accordingly?

k so I tried switching a weapon mesh with the items animobject nif. This worked for all the NPCs but not my character
. I even tried importing the animobject mesh into nifskope and attaching it so a set of armor, but its just invisible ingame
Anyone got any ideas? Thanks
Nevermind- remembered you need to change the 1stperson anims for the effect to affect your own character duhhh
