@saintpeter: Dude, it looks like you've completely missed the point of Steam. It updates your games automatically, in the background, without any popups, reminders, and without you needing to research, locate and install the patch yourself.

The reason you couldn't find anywhere on Steam to download the patch is because it's not 2003 anymore. If you'd left your Steam online like the rest of us, Skyrim would have patched itself quietly in the background when you turned your computer on in the morning.

So blind updates without knowing what they contain or what they change are good because....?

I don't allow Windows to update itself on my rig, much less a screw job like Steam. I know several people who were ninja'd by the first Skyrim patch and this patch isn't addressing the issues THE FIRST Patch caused.

I personally am not patching until all of the bugs are worked out of the yet-to-be-released Construction Kit and even then I'll make back-ups of all of my ini and the exe BEFORE I give Steam permission to sabotage my game with yet another dubious BethSoft update that acts more like a game virus.

I was shown a lesson when I patched OB for Shiver Isles. I was shown another lesson with FO3 and Broken Steel. They won't get me again.

Oh boy, someone who is living in 2003. How is that tin foil hat working out for you?

Oh boy, another Dovahkid troll. Just STOP with this rubbish about the tin foil hat. Some of us can well remember what Kendo 2 is talking about as we also got our games hosed by the patches he mentions. Bethesda's patches are notorious for breaking more than they fix.

I'm staying offline on Steam too, until they are done breaking it any more.

The best patch Bethesda could possibly offer would be to release the CK - finally. Bethesda, leave the bugfixing to those who really know how to do that, just give them the tool to do so.

What a chain of failures.

To fill in the time waiting for the CK we should either have a best foil helmet contest or a brattiest dovahkid contest. Winner gets to vblog what will in their opinion get broken/ fixed in the next patch.

And a sweetroll.

'Bethesda is also planning on supporting 4GB Tuning for PC (Large Address Aware) next week, so stay tuned!'

Awesome. Regardless of the fact that modders fixed it already it's always nice to see official support. Same goes for FOV options, should they decide to add those.

No problem here with the patch, my game runs smoothly since day 1.

For all of those having problems, maybe first try removing all the mods.

Also, save files can get corrupt, so if you are getting frequent crashes or problems (like not able to buy sell, level etc.), maybe try to start a new game to see if the problems are still happening.

On another note, what exactly is meant by "Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)"? I have a Core 2 Duo myself but I did not experience noticeable improvements.

This patch finally fixed the dragonfly problem^^ So finally it´s awesome again! But I wish they would finally fix the graphic problem with invisible effects. I´m using a mod to fix it but I´d love not to have to use a mod to have the full visual experience...
EDIT: I just noticed a bug this patch brings to me. I´ve completed the forsworn-quest in markarth already, but somehow the guards always run to me and want to throuw me into the cidna-mine because of helping the forsworn and killing people. BUT I COMPLETED THAT DAMN QUEST ALREADY!! They don´t really bring me to the mine and I don´t have to pay gold but those damn guards won´t stop talking to me like I was a forsworn... What the hell is wrong with bethesda right now? Will now every patch bring a new problem? I guess they were hurrying because they said that the patch will come out this week. They should concentrate and make sure that their patches won´t mess anything up before they release it, even if that means that we have to wait some more days.
Anyway this is no reasom to stop playing but it´s really stupid!

Carimya the problem you are experiencing is a confirmed quest bug I do not know if there is a fix I just restarted the quest in console and had it finish with the setstage command.
As for my 2 cents if you got the 1.2 patch get 1.3 it at least makes the game playable, also the dual-core fix helped my performance noticeably but the sensitivity is still stiff and I have it on max. If you avoided all the patches just wait until they release a comprehensive patch that actually addresses real problems as this patch is mostly cosmetic and is primarily a fix for 1.2.
