@saintpeter: Dude, it looks like you've completely missed the point of Steam. It updates your games automatically, in the background, without any popups, reminders, and without you needing to research, locate and install the patch yourself.
The reason you couldn't find anywhere on Steam to download the patch is because it's not 2003 anymore. If you'd left your Steam online like the rest of us, Skyrim would have patched itself quietly in the background when you turned your computer on in the morning.
So blind updates without knowing what they contain or what they change are good because....?
I don't allow Windows to update itself on my rig, much less a screw job like Steam. I know several people who were ninja'd by the first Skyrim patch and this patch isn't addressing the issues THE FIRST Patch caused.
I personally am not patching until all of the bugs are worked out of the yet-to-be-released Construction Kit and even then I'll make back-ups of all of my ini and the exe BEFORE I give Steam permission to sabotage my game with yet another dubious BethSoft update that acts more like a game virus.
I was shown a lesson when I patched OB for Shiver Isles. I was shown another lesson with FO3 and Broken Steel. They won't get me again.
Oh boy, someone who is living in 2003. How is that tin foil hat working out for you?
Oh boy, another Dovahkid troll. Just STOP with this rubbish about the tin foil hat. Some of us can well remember what Kendo 2 is talking about as we also got our games hosed by the patches he mentions. Bethesda's patches are notorious for breaking more than they fix.
I'm staying offline on Steam too, until they are done breaking it any more.
