Hi, every one.
I'm new to modding (one more) and I started with a simple and easy exercice, just replace an existing texture.
So I followed instructions from a tutorial found in the Nexus.
I used FOMM to extract a simple .dds file (Ebony dragon priest mask), opened it with gimp and the DDS plug-in.
I've made changes (smoothy, darker, contrast ...)
I've created the %Skyrim%/Data/texture/armor/dragonpriesthelm/ folder and put all the dragonpriest masks .dds files extracted with FOMM, including my new .dds
In game, My texture is replaced (HO Yeah) but it's just plain black. The helmet is shining, ok, but is black. I have checked out the inventory, it's all black.
I think I have just messed-up while saving and/or compressing the file.
Do I need to change normalmaps ? _n.dds file ? Or is it just a problem of mipmap ?
Thanks for your help, sorry for my English
Texture replacer basic issue

Try this maybe it's the same issue.

Thanks dude !
I solved my problem by editing my dds as a .psd file and then re-open it in GIMP. I have saved it as .dds with BC3 / DXT5 option and "generate mipmaps" !!
And my helmet is know awesome ! ^^
(How can I make this thread as "solved" ?)
