The crosshair flickering is part of the way the mod "sees" what NPC/creature you are in combat with. It basically makes the distance from which you can activate stuff a lot longer, then adds a "token" to the mob you are pointing your crosshair at; this all happens within a split second so your crosshair seems to "flicker" - it actually isn't flickering but just showing the info of what you are looking at. I don't think it can be done in such a way that the crosshair doesn't flicker...

Hey! I love this idea. I have a question though.. I use the AF leveling mod. I'd like to switch to this! I'm not very keen on starting the game again though. Would switching be possible without bugging up my game? I suppose the answer is no.. D:

I'm not sure about that, I haven't tried it myself. I'd advice deactivating AF Levelling, then saving the game, then activating Oblivion XP and playing on. Naively, it shouldn't cause any problems to switch to Oblivion XP, but again, I haven't tested it myself.

Wow, this has gone a long way since I first tried it (actually played a whole game). I will most certainly try it again.
But I'd still wish, one could do some XP gathering with magic. Although I enjoy slicing up a beast once in a while, I still do enjoy it more to smite them down with a cool spell. I don't do a lot of stealing and I very much rely on my magic skills more than anything else.
I do apprechiate that it is no fun to micromanage your leveling and thus casting specific spells until the keyboard gives. But would it be so harmful to the nature of the leveling system to grant small amounts of XP per spell? Regardless of the magic school, of course. That isn't more tempting to artificially gain points than by reading books or making potions, me thinks.
I feel that one needs to use a skill to master it and it doesn't feel right to use a skill and not have any training effect. But of course not by way of that insane (and insanely boring) vanilla skilling sessions.
Do you think, it might be possible to implement that?
Please don't bite me if you think it's stupid.

I use the XP version 2.1 now, but I miss all the new features that are described in the readme. The unused training sessions aren't being carried over to the next level and I don't have any of the menus to customize the settings (only the menu from version 1.1).
I made an OMOD and I used vanilla leveling before I initialized Oblivion XP. What did I do wrong?

Hi. Fine mod youve done there. But assuming i'd ever like to restore the Vanilla levelling system, how'd I do that on an existing character? Just deactivate the ESP? I tried that with XP Levelling 1.3, and came upon the following problem: the "progress to next level" bar didnt move from the 0%, though my major skills did advance. Havent tried the same with ver 2.1. Anyone experience on that issue?
Thx in advance,
JJ.
Well, in this context maybe an idea would be to "mix" the vanilla levelling system with the xp one; like skills do progress a little when using them, but when u level up, there'd still be a few points to spend as u wish. What do you think? Well, just a phantasy

Wednesday17: Are you sure you updated to v2.1 correctly? Try holding your mouse cursor over Oblivion XP.esp in OBMM, the mod description has a version number in it.

I'll be damned! And you are right, SirFrederik. I made the OMOD from the wrong archive. I really should be more practical and delete outdated files. Thanks for the tip.
