jochem100,

If I can get enough information about how to do it I plan to add lod landscape mesh and texture generation sometime in the future. Yes. But that's long-term.

As for generating lod data for just one mod, please read my postings on the bethesda forums. Pre-generated DistantLOD data for worldspaces from other masters really shouldn't be distributed. Instead people should just run TES4LODGen to generate DistantLOD data that correctly takes into account all installed mods.

And in regards to new worldspaces, there is nothing special I need to do in the software. You can just pick out the right files from the DistantLOD folder based on the filename (starts with the EditorID of the worldspace).

youre right, off course...

after playing a little bit with tes4lodgen i now understand that it's better for people to just run tes4lodgen themselves. since its super-user-friendly (anybody can doubleclick, and that's really al you need to do)

it is a brilliant tool. not using the CS vwd flags is really revolutinairy

What we would need now is a good package of far_nif files. with aevwd some of the bridges don't show up right because some part of the bridge do not have a lod counterpart. If someone could only create a good far_nif package..

In a perfect world one should make this Far_nif package modular, so one could choose what will be vwd.

last thing, its great that you answer all questions and take the time to help people. even those who are new to modding. thumbs up!!

The landscape images are impressing. Could you tell me what kind of VWD mod you are using? And how did you make that the reflections in the distant water are so smooth?

I installed and run this utility, and it gave me a small error concerning frans mod, it turns out I had the wrong order and thanks to this I noticed!!!!

And yes, loaded my Light VWD much better than the deffault set up did.

I do have a question, am I supposed to run this everytime I start Oblivion, or just once unless I install new LOD Mods???

TES4LODGen needs to be run once after you changed the mods (be it adding, removing or changing order).

I have a problem, TES4LODS stops after few secons withe the message, NOT ENOUGHT SPACE or something like that, any ideas?

Problem resolved, it was the DLCSpellTomes.esp, removed, run TES4Lod, finished, put it back. And everythig 10 points!

I am making a mod and I want a few LOD objects that everyone can see. I will obviouly link to this great mod and suggest using it, but most people won't download this if it isn't 100% necessary. Is there any way I can make these 6 specific objects LOD and package them with the mod. Thank you so much for any reply, I have been searching for an answer.

the necroscope, what you describe is in no way specific to using TES4LODGen. All that TES4LODGen does is create .lod files describing the positions of objects for which _far.nif's are avilable in exactly the same way as the .lod files that originally came with Oblivion.

It does not in any way effect how the game engine later handles that information. So either you have this disappearing and then reappearing problem already with the original .lod files (probably because your system is either not powerful enough to smoothly replace the low quality far.nif with the full model when you get close or because something has been misconfigured in your oblivion.ini) or the objects in question have no far representation at all with the original .lod files and just pop up right in front of your face when you get close.

Query: I had a problem with my computer; which resulted in me having to use my HP Backup Hard-drive to reset all my registry and settings files (hurray HP). Fortunately, all my data is intact. I was trying to use this, but sadly it keeps bugging me about the registry - which makes sense as almost nothing I installed has a registry entry anymore. Is there any way I can get this program to work anyways?

Edit: Nevermind. I found a way to just add another registry entry for Oblivion.
