So I got a mean hankering to play some Oblivion, and I've only grabbed a few necessary mods, but Better Cities is causing my game to crash before I even get to the main menu? The only other Mod I have on, is Natural Environments, and then the expansions. The game runs perfect without BC. And it's at the bottom of my load order (OBMM).

Sounds like a missing masters issue. Make sure you have all the proper Better Cities ESP and ESM files activated. Also you should sort your load order with BOSS, just to make sure.

I have all of the better cities files activated, and the patch that automatically installed. BOSS Didn't find anything wrong, so I don't know what's up.

Like Nephenee13 said, sounds like a missing master issue. Did you install the BC Resource and BC Permanent along with the main files? Using Wrye Bash would be much much better in the long run. Know why? Because it lets you see what files are being overwritten and when you uninstall your mod, it reverts back to the files before the change. OBMM does not do that unfortunately. It is simple yes but its function is outdated by Wrye Bash.

This thread looks to have been abandoned now, but I really don't like the sound of "all of the better cities files activated" - a lot of the BC ESPs are patches dependant on other mods, if you've installed all of them then what you are experiencing is EXACTLY what I would expect. Make sure that you are only using the BC ESPs you actually need, check the file titled "What Does Each File Do.rtf", it's in the main archive download (containing all the ESPs and the ESM).

I have played with an older version that seems to work but with the newest version anytime I get near anyone of the cities, Windows gives me the "Oblivion has stopped working" Issue. . . . huh . . . I will try to start a new game without this mod.

 

I will post again when it has worked.
