@vampiresmist - I believe it's mostly about censorship, and possible unwanted monetizing of a very richly talented modding community that is already in place without the workshop. As it stands Modders can and most likely WILL release any and every possible mod imaginable. If a modder decides for instance, to put boobs on butterflies or make the giants into a playable race.... with butterfly wings....and boobs... ( you get my point ) who's to say what this new affiliation with Steam Workshop will allow?
I personally like the freedom that the modding community that has made this series the best by far imho as is. I and many like me are wary of this invasive relationship going on and are worried about mods that may be suddenly not allowed. No booberflies flitting over a sunny meadow, no Monarch boob Giants walking about. It could be a tragic end to the imaginative world we know and love. Still we won't know the score til all the cards are laid flat. *Sigh*

I think that the surprise will be the announcement of an expansion.

It seems tied to the CK announcement, as he said "we have a special surprise with it". That would probably be PC-related news. An expansion or DLC would be for all platforms.

My video card is telling me if it is a high resolution pack it hopes it is low resolution HR pack

high res pack would be cool though there is already some stuff on here i just want the ck...

I'm really happy to see an official high res pack. I use a few high res mods now, but that's because I only like those few as they're so close to the original texture they replace and style of the game. I love the way the game looks, so Beth's own official high res version will be perfect. I do kind of wonder though, maybe these are the textures they intended to ship with the game but didn't because during testing, they seen lots of purple and had terrible fps? lol If so, 4GB and Skyboost both are the reason we're getting these now lol Oh well, that's awesome anyway. I'm glad to see us getting something, no matter what it is. Even horse armor... but I'd still rather have the textures lol

If there's an official HD texture pack (and I'm talking 4k x 4k textures, I have a beast of a rig), I'll have to send an email to Tod Howard that reads, "We cool man, we cool. You was right dog."

I agree with Dark0ne prolly a small dlc like amro or wepons will be released and if not maybe somethin lame ....instead either im excited for creation kit will have lots of fun if it is a hi res texure pack its a shame i cant use it cuz my rig really poor
