I have a question about after making a mod, we still can't upload what we created in the CK to this site?

No, you go to View -> Tools, and it will be there.

if a mod author uploads to steam workshop they might not be allowed to upload anywhere else.

False. Bethesda has said from the very beginning that we can upload our mods anywhere we want.

@PoptartKitteh The texture pack doesn't come with the CK, you install it separately by going under DLC for Skyrim in Steam.

As for uploading it, not sure we're allowed to, either way its taking forever to download.

Maybe your internet just isn't good enough? I just downloaded the texture pack and Kingdoms of Amalur at an average of 2MB/s. Steam also shows me a peak download rate of 2.6MB/s. These download speed are consistent with what I always get from Steam.

@PoptartKitteh
The HD Texture Pack doesn't come with the Creation Kit. It is listed as DLC for Skyrim on Steam. It is on the main Steam storefront right now under the new releases and is also listed on the Skyrim store page.

No he isn't entirely wrong. As was speculated in the beginning (The whole paid mod thing) if you upload to steam and steam "offers" to "Share" profit with you if you allow your mod to become pay for use. After you do this though they can turn right around which they most likely would and make a version of their own and your pay would be cut.

The CK and workshop just came out so no one is wrong in that sense, since no one has been able to confirm or debunk this. In short if valve does this and does picks your mod and offers you and you agree/consent they pretty much own your mod and you're not able to upload it any where else. Also I'm pretty sure if they did do this and you used steam work shop to upload your mod they don't need consent.
That's while I would upload to only Nexus and any other site but.

I would never "buy" a mod.
Thats just wrong, so if they do it, i dont care.

Donating on mods is fine, but being forced to pay for a mod is just "doh!".
