I recently downloaded the CK and cannot get it to start. It seems to load up just fine but an error message pops up reading: "Creation Kit has stopped working." I read some places on the net and noticed that I may be needing a file called "constructionset.ini." I can't find this file anywhere and does anyone else have it? If I do not need this file, then is there another file I may be missing?

You get everything when you download it. Try verifying integrity and then restart steam, that helped for me.

MAJOR EDIT: I just got mine to work. The problem may not be with the creation kit itself but with skyrim. Do a verify integrity of files on Skyrim and hopefully it should work like it did for me.

Tell me about it... it's that constructionkit.ini file that we're missing and I'm 85% sure of it. I just need to see where I can download it or if someone could attach and post it on here.

I was messing around a lot earlier and finally got it to work as well. Thanks anyways.

My messing around isn't proving as fruitful. The damn thing still crashes every time I close the data menu.

what fixed it for me was downloading the version of the creation kit for the current updated version of skyrim.. mine being 1.5 .. hope it worksª!

wtf when i open the creation kit it says you need to find a network or some s*** i just want to play it how do i get normal so deactivate the version controle

Dont ask me why this worked cuz it makes no sense but it worked for me... install skyrim online right into your skyrim directory and CK works, idk y
