My game crashes as soon as I start to load it. I have cleared all mods and unloaded all esp files and it still crashes. Things were running great until the release of the HD texture update.

well Nosisab's posted guide is just a general introduction to all the setting arround skyrim, of cause its realy good explained! but it realy doesnt help ...

yeah think so to thats this is a problem with the ram and the bigger high res textures. but i dont understand why.

and yes, is tested several high res packs with the same results ...

anybody with an x64 system who has solved the problem ?

Maybe the savegame is already compromised.

@furregistershit
I believe you mean I linked that tweakguide now residing at Nvidia site. It is generally useful to get the best balance between performance vs quality, may help with crashes but is not it's purpose.

to all, Not always the crashes will be due to memory management, sometimes they are caused by bugs in the game, mods, mods conflicts, mods becoming outdated by patches... sometimes the savegame will have something causing the instability.

To try and isolate the real cause is advisable creating a new game and playing with it for a while. Although even if the new game is running file is not warranty the game/mods combination does not have a bug lurking ahead, it is pretty good to tell the environment has a serious bug from start.

------------------------------------------------------------------
The following is off topic, can be securely skipped for not focusing on solving any specific issue.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

We are still in a phase where many things are still a mystery in how the game works and reacts toward mods, solutions and workarounds will appear but in the end most cases must be treated on an individual fashion.

The "tsunami" of problems is yet to come although it's first waves are already felt. When dealing with load order becomes seriously a problem, to the point sometimes even changing it is enough to invalidate savegames, you'll know the real ordeal came.

That idea of putting mods inside BSAs and "effectively" inverting the situation, where files in /data were meant to "override" files in BSA will put a new toll and make yet harder to solve the problems. I really don't know yet how the general conflicts among BSAs will be solved and how localized conflicts will be resolved. Patching such mods to make them to work together will be next to a nightmare. I don't underestimate the community capacity of finding solutions, but securely life is not going to be easier to it.

To be honest, probably I'll ask: how are the mods installed? BSA? sorry, Steam should have the solution to this. Well, maybe not but I'm seriously tempted doing so.

Hello, after the release of the creation kit and the High Res pack from Bethesda, I have been getting a crash to desktop whenever i fast travel. I disabled the High res. Esm. and that fixes the problem, is anyone else having this issue or found a solution? My pc specs are more than capable for handling skyrim at high res, so I can't seem to come to a conclusion on the issue.

Thanks in advance! :)

I wish I have the same problem as you do.Mine is wierded.
I get CTD everytime I go outdoors with hd texture pack.It works fine and smooth indoors.Crazy, right?

...
When I tried the game, I could play it with the high res pack and all graphics maxed, and no texture problems or crashes even when using fast travel. It looks so much better! (Except the radioactive glowing campfire logs, but I just downloaded the fix for that.)
...

Where can I find the fix for the radioactive logs you mention above. Hope this also fixes the purple logs that the meat-sellers typically have with the hi-res textures installed.

Thanks
