Don't understand the negativity here.... they have our money, and now they are giving us things for free. At worst, this is preventing piracy through genuine customer satisfaction from patches. At best, this is a company going "WAIT WAIT WAIT, we forgot something!!" and chucking it in for free!

I can empathize somewhat, as I have severe carpal tunnel and when it flares badly, it makes me wish I didn't have hands at all.

On topic, i normally wait until the patches and first DLC is released, also because I almost never have a good enough computer when something is first released. So I tend to come in after everything's patched, etc. Still I wish Bethesda would stop the Christmas rush job they've been doing since Daggerfall, and just work on getting it right.

@MysteriousMrBear:
People are never happy. They *censored* and whine and moan all too much without looking at what's around it, or looking at a gift horse in it's mouth.

And that said, I love Oblivion and Fallout 3 so much, and I do not see anything wrong that could give it negative baseless bulls***.

If you don't look any horse in the mouth, you are very unwise and that is never more true when the horse is actually a Bethesda patch. Some of us have had enough experience of Bethesda patches to dread them - they give with one hand and break with the other. Skyrim has been a particularly appalling example - ninja patches, backward flying dragon patches...etc...etc...

I agree with MysteriousMrBear
Skyrim is not "incomplete" it is very much complete, Bethesda just wants to add new features through patches, cant you guys just be happy about that?. Would you rather them not give a s*** and stop releasing patches?

Yeah, right, it's complete despite the fact that there are still more quest bugs than on a flea ridden old dog? We are getting gimmicks rather than fixes.

@Carimya

It was a mess for the PC, dreadful controls, horrible optimisation, dreadful UI for keyboard and mouse, mouse acceleration on by default and it took mods and tweaks to fix it up before Bethesda even got the fist patch out. As for the PS3 version, well that's another mess thanks to not properly optimising.

Note that it's the PC community that are improving the game and also you cannot claim Gothic games have the most bugs, at least the community patched it because JoWood forced the gothic 3 out early and the community patched it later. Bethesda's games have always been extremely buggy because they take on too much and simply cannot provide the bug fixing after and the Q&A is awful, plus their awful old engine with the same bugs carried over.

5 patches and not many quest bugs fixed at all, Bethesda should try and make a real patch rather than getting cool features in to wow people.

Quoted for truth. I have arthritis which affects my hands badly and I nearly gave up Skyrim after the first half hour. Then as soon as SkyUI came out a friend told me about it and that improved things a lot. Then there were the bugs. Truly not deserving of GOTY, it certainly hasn't got my vote in any polls that I've been involved in.

I am glad Bethesda had significantly improved on their game development skills. Since release I have yet to have one noticeable bug or any CTDs.

That they are also adding new things for free hows a double increase in the care taken with their games.

I'm excited about the Killcams for archers, I'm a pure archer, so it's welcome news. I really hope they release all of those mods they showed in that video. Especially the vampire mods and real-time flow based water. The water flowing sideways drives me crazy!

some other things i hope make it in from the DICE video

- nightmare mount when i first saw/got shadowmere i was a tad disappointed as it was just a black horse with red eyes i was hoping for a skeletal nightmare steed flaming mane tail and hooves when i saw it in the DICE video i was so excited.

- spears .. they were in morrowind and i have missed them since such a classic weapon

- goblins .. who doesent want more variety in monsters

- moving lifts and the like this would make for some really cool dungeon layouts added with the water currents you can ride to different areas you can do some really complex mazes

the new killcams will be welcome IMO archers and mages have been missing out on these mini cinematics

1. In your opinion what was the last stable update. 2. Also, does NMM need to mirror the update at that time or can the latest version be fine with the older version of Skyrim? 3. How do you go back to the stable update if your are at 1.4.7?
