I've tried search this forum as well as google and I can't really find an answer to this question.

First, the setup: I'm in house telvanni and I advanced to Master without knowing there was supposedly a choice between that and magister. Savegame for that choise is relatively far back, so I'm weighing whether I want to go back to it so I can become the archmagister instead. I'm playing on the xbox which means the patch that fixes this problem on the PC isn't available to me, and I can't use the console to back my rank off to wizard.

The question: What would be the pro's and con's to becoming the archmagister instead (ie: difference in stronghold, in loot, etc)?

absolutely nothin. i was master because i didnt have the magic to upgrade, and therefore it made me stay. even after i couldnt upgrade. and it doesnt matter, unless they give you a spell or item. other than that, nothin.
