There are lines in my shadows! Now I don't feel like an adventuring elf. I've played 300 hours on this game, but it sucks!

@Pixeldust, I'm with you. I and the rest of us should not have to have be so wary of the 1.5, or subsequent updates either. Sorry if I misunderstood your earlier posts. As far as the updates, learned my lesson (w/steam) when 1.4.27 was released. Now I backup working game files (ie: 1.4.27) and block auto updates. BTW, it's been great discussing these issues with you.
Perhaps we'll have more fun when the next update is released (or not if it is bug free). ;)

What? Bioware didn't release an SDK for Dragon Age Origins? Oh yes they did, because I distinctly remember using it myself to make morphs and to, frankly, cheat by adding extra health potions (they were as rare as hen's teeth in the vanilla game.)

Dragon Age Origins Toolset

Back to topic, I have neither had problems with seeing under water nor crashes, but then I don't use any of these ENB series/Post Process Injector things. Playing on Ultra, everything cranked up.

i finaly found a way to make my copy no longer require the use of steam and i can block any update i choose to block. im back at 1.4. on my private website im adding this method so everyone can use it. it will be posted there. it blocks steams updates and steam workshop. removes all need for buggy updates. and reverses youre version back to 1.4 since 1.5 destroyed lots of mods, 1.5 is worthless.

Don't do it, bypassing Steam is not going to make you popular here. Simpler solution is keeping it blocked on the firewall.

i tried blocking it in he firewall, it forced the update again. even though it was blocked. this new method i made is the only way not to have to update and ruin the game. it still requires steam to be installed, it just blocks steam from being used. allows you to play it without steam even when steam is running. it basicly stops steam from forcing updates on you.

Can nobody tell me how to disable shadows on grass? The game runs unblayable slow.

After updating to 1.5, I just see a solid green screen underwater and it crashes constantly. 1.4 may be a little buggier, but at least it's stable and without texture issues. I'm glad I backed everything up before installing the patch.

@onabee Try this. Worked for me. Cut down my lag to almost zero. I really only get lag 1-3 seconds after leaving a building.

To disable the grass shadows I added:
bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1
