July followed Raven, she heard Amy's comment and frowned. "You should be thankful that Raven was kind enough to help us out instead of complaining about how her friend's house looks." Amy's attitude really annoyed her.

Raven led them around to the back of the shack, where a 1965 Ford pickup sat. It had once been a nice brick red color, but decades of sitting out in the sun had turned it a faded pink. Its hood was up, and she could hear someone fiddling around with the engine.

She whistled sharply, sounding not unlike a hawk's cry. There was a loud bang underneath the hood, followed by a string of curse words.

Jim's head poked out from around the car. He was a man of his mid-sixties, with a receding grey hairline and a weathered, wrinkled face. He had a pair of very bright blue eyes, hard at first, but they softened when he saw Raven.

"Raven! Good to see you, girl! Was wonderin' when you'd be headin' back this way," he said with a friendly wave, "And you brought some friends with you?"

He slowly came around the truck to meet them, and they could now see that he was missing his left leg from well above the knee. He moved on his crutch well enough, though.

"Pleased to meet you, too, David," Jim replied, moving closer to the man, "You're a sharp-looking young fella. Believe it or not, I used to look a lot like you...though, you wouldn't know it now, wouldja?" He laughed, playfully swatting David on the shoulder.

He looked past him to the two other women, "And who do we have here?"

Jim squinted at July's shirt, "Black Sabbath, eh? Can't go wrong with Ozzy, can you?"

July watched the man as he talked with Raven and David. He seemed like a really nice fellow. His comment towards her shirt was quite surprising. "No, you can't. I'm July. Pleased to meet you." She said to the Jim.

Adam had followed the others, and he looked at Jim, he wondered why Jim was living here, in a shack with an old pick up truck, instead of somewhere else. There must have been some reason, he wondered if Jim had a gun hidden somewhere like the three girls did. Jim seemed like a friendly man, so he decided not to instantly burden him with these questions, besides, it would have been rude to butt in.
