As an info have found that every now and then with 1.5 when go into the section to select mods provided by the game will get a hickup shall we say and when does it turns off skyrim.esm. has happened to me a couple times so never use that anymore and stick to NMM or Wrye Bash for this function. Info only.
This could be a causative factor, I'm unaware of this as I've been using GEMM/NMM/BOSS for managing my load order and not using the stock launcher Data Files utility.
Okay, I'll have to check that out later today. Thanks so much for the help I've gotten so far.

BOSS - BOSS is a load order sorting tool that can be used independent of NMM or Wrye Bash but cannot order plugins that aren't recognized by its BOSS master list...the master list is constantly updated so eventually most known mods end up on it and it will sort your load order listing to the most efficient order to avoid conflicts and errors.
Main issue here is you should be using Nexus Mod Manager and the Nexus to install mods, its quite efficient and avoids many obvious errors that can occur with manual installs. Also Steam Workshop installs tend to install correctly but they're not very efficient with uninstalls and they also don't handle any load order management.
Load order with mods is extremely important because each mod is always derived from the same master base, the main game master file. So in order you need, in your load order;
Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
--------------------
Any mod based .esm files, though the load order here will depend on what mods you use and how they affect the game mechanics or leveled lists of the game.
--------------------
All .esp files load under .esm files.
ESP file loading is based on order of magnitude of what it is affecting in the world environment or leveled list structure of the game. It is notable to understand that anything that critically affects game play mechanics, leveled lists or NPC's should be loaded absolutely last as the lower in the list an ESP effects what its over ruling from ESP's previous to it.

IF YOU USE SKSE, DISABLE IT.
IF YOU USE SCRIPT DRAGON, DELETE "DINPUT8.DLL" IN YOUR MAIN SKYRIM FOLDER.
IF YOU USE ANY ENB SERIES TYPE OF MODS, DELETE "D3D9.DLL" IN YOUR MAIN SKYRIM FOLDER.
NOW, DOES SKYRIM STILL CRASH?
IF IT NO LONGER CRASHES, THEN UPDATE THE ABOVE MODS TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH SKYRIM V1.5.26.

Well if its a clean save and you haven't edited the Skyrim.ini after reinstall, the only other thing that could cause a full CTD after the Bethesda loading screen is to have your ESM master file load order wrong.
If you are running no mods at all, the only two ESM files that should be ticked in your Data Files list should be the following
Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
If you are running mods and you have mods that use master files, loading any other master file before Skyrim.esm in your load order will cause Skyrim to immediately shut down after the Bethesda logo. If you're using mods it would help to know which mods and where they are in your mod load order.
I believe that this is my problem. I have no idea how those files could have gotten deleted, but they don't appear to be on my computer. Can you please give me some tips on where to find the replacements? I didn't get my game through steam, so I can't just flash the files..
