Also you could look into your data folder what remnants of old mods you left behind.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't help. I went through it and it didn't seem to do anything. I saved four times one after another without even moving, and I seemed the files size increased 2mb per save.
I am cutting my losses and doing a reinstall and will be chosey for the mods I install... hopefully that'll help.
