Weird effects in Helgen.

Hi everyone.

 

I'm running on patch 1.5.26 and i started a fresh new game.

 

I'm stuck in the Helgen dungeon at the very start. Once the gate is open, Ralof don't lead nor follow me downstair. I truly don't know wich mods is doing this.

I'm having the same problem, I even did a fresh install of the game with no mods, and its the same. I am able however to log totally out, and when it reloads, its there again, but I have to have The Hi Res Textures .esp checked to complete Helgen,

I have an old rig and i cannot afford to use the Hi-Res textures pack.

 

I know that every computer is different, but clearly, i think there's a problem with this version.

 

Fortunatly, it's spring time here in Quebec and the snow is melting away. Think i will let the dust settle for a while and i'm going to play outside.

 

Thank's for sharing, i was thinking i was alone in my case.

Same problem here!

If I save and quit then the graphics return to normal (i.e. the issue in your screenshots goes away) but no matter what I do, Ralof (or the other fellow) just stands there. I use moveto player and he runs back to the same spot. I've tried setting quest stages, disabling mods, punching the wall until I cry.. Nothing helps.

I've had EXACTLY the same issues.

  • To restore the textures I got rid of:

 

SoS - The Dungeons.esp Active

SoS - The Wilds.esp Active

 

Sadly, both sound mod conflict with Helgen in general. But that only helped with fixing outer Helgen. For inner Helgen you've got to also eliminate all the 2K texture packs

(my guess is that any HD texture pack that might conflict with the HD DLC from Bethesda is a problem).

  • Getting Ralof or Haldvar to move is a different issue that I haven't solved yet.... They both get stuck at some point inside the keep.

I see we have a few mods in common:

I seriously doubt that any of these mods are an issue... but I'm going to eliminate all of them now on my game and see if I can play through the intro.

Okay simply removing those mods didn't change anything.

 

I removed all mods and re-installed slowly and tested each time. It looks like there's one housing mod that seems to conflict.

 

My current theory is that there's a new mesh that has somehow interrupted the pathing of Ralof / Haldvar.

 

Too tired to keep going but more updates as I progress...

Okay, I've eliminated the problem. Although I'm not certain which mods were conflicting with each other.

 

Here are some mods that I took out:

 

:wallbash: Amazing Follower Tweaks

 

Alternative Start

 

AOF Believable Hair

ApachiiSky Hair

 

:wallbash: Black Tower and Black Sacrament Armor Pack

 

:wallbash: Catwalk Fix

 

Dynavision - Dynamic Depth of Field

 

:wallbash: Every city have various guard outfits

 

Immersive Skyrim Thunder

 

Horse Armors for Skyrim

 

:wallbash: Lush Grass

 

:wallbash: Omegared99 - Armor Compilation

 

:wallbash: QD Inventory

 

Skyrim HD - 2K Textures

 

:wallbash: Sounds of Skyrim - The Wilds

:wallbash: Sounds of Skyrim - The Dungeons

 

Spell Master The Time and Space

 

Weapons and Armor Fixes

 

----

 

The ones I highlighted are the most likely culprits.

 

Sounds of Skyrim and the 2K textures cause problems internally and externally with Helgen.

 

But there's a second conflict that deals solely with Hadvar and Ralof's movement and dialogue.

 

WarchiefArmor and Cloaks.esp are fine.

 

It is possible that inventory mods could be affecting things - but better sorting is fine.

 

Lush Grass may be a problem because it affects meshes badly, but the Static Mesh Improvement Mod works fine.

 

The Black Tower and Black Sacrament mod may be a problem.

 

Every City Have Various Guard Outfits may be a problem because it could affect the inventory of the various NPCs in Helgen.

Regardless, my game seems to have sorted itself out without those listed mods.
