I recently updated my skyrim for the PS3
and as soon as i did. I will get this crash that occurs every time i enter a body of water that i'm able to swim in.
It's the point where your able to actually swim. Meaning i'm still able to walk on the shallow areas.
but as soon as i enter the point in which your inside the water it completely crashes, just freezes there.
I even tried creating a whole new game from scratch because i remember the lag issues that skyrim was having due to games that had excessive play hours.
so i'm assuming this might be the case where as my game contains a lot of hours in.
but unfortunately it still occurs in a new game.

I don't know if anyone is experiencing this problem or anything similar to this.
the patch just came out for PS3 so this might or might not happen to you
but if you are i did some messing around and found a simple fix.

All you need to do is delete the 1.5 update and re-download it. Pretty simple right?
To do this go to your "Game Data Utility" in the "Game" column on the XMB of your PS3.
Scroll down until you see "SKYRIM PATCH" press Triangle and delete it.
Launch skyrim and re-download the update all over again.
Try getting in the water and see if it still crashes. If not then your all good to play.
If it still occurs or another error pops up I would suggest re doing the steps until it comes out right.

I hope this helps out to anyone that's having this problem or is having any problem with the new update to try this solution and see if it helps.

Hey man , basicly i downloaded the new patch an hour ago in england and im havign the same problems so ill keep you posted and let you know if it fixes with your advice

yup, same problem i was wondering if it was just the specific water body i was trying to swim in, but i guess its not

As this is a PC modding site and not a PS3 or Xbox troubleshooting site you may get more results on a site dedicated to console problems. Few of our members bother with the consoles as they cannot be legally modded.

I was having exactly the same problem. Hugely frustrating! Come on Bethesda.

I deleted and redownloaded yesterday's patch and I can get my feet wet again. Many thanks!

my issue is that every time i fast travel ANYWHERE it crashes . is also crashes when i open a door (to a area) it crashes. also when i save in any sort of way... it crashes. and when i load, you guest it.. it crashes... oh yeah! also when i boot up the game right when it says Bethesda it crashes or when i click continue (when the bethesda issue doesnt happen) it crashes...... sooo yeah
