Gah... I had hoped that no one would ever return to turn based roleplaying (or d&d dice rolling) for PC games, i didnt liked at all those mechanics (specially when computers started to being powerful enough for make every singe action of a game in real time rather than trowing a dice roll and let the player imagine all the interaction).

Though im very happy that those devs can make the stuff they want to make with the help of the fans. For every Taleworlds there are probably thousands small teams that didnt get signed with a publisher and kickstarter is a very, very good alternative of getting funding without compromising the integrity of the game or the dev team.

I wouldnt even blink if we saw the next minecraft sprout of Kickstarter in the next months.

Shadowrun also plans to RETURN! :D

Go check this out, if you liked Wasteland:

Huh, they make a Mac version but back down from Linux? Go figure.

That is truly awesome! Wasteland was the first PC game I can recall ever playing, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I may have to skip lunch for a few days to pay for it, a small price to pay, but my money is already on its way!

The first game I played and got me into RPG was Arena. I got this running on DOS box. Good old stable DOS ;). I do miss the attribute system and picking a class. That was a difference with the older games. A Knight couldn't use magic..at all. So he had to rely on the healer. The healer couldn't fight very well so he relied on the Knight to fight. It's like the toons you create now dont have much detail. I'm having old gaming flashbacks..hah. I work in a thrift store we get older games occasionally. There have been a few King's Quest games there recently.

I'm so happy to see something like this. I hope it will lead to an awesome quality game and maybe many more to come. Plus, apparently I have spent a good portion of my life enjoying games Brian helped create. They have my support. The least I can do.

Yea....I mentioned the Wasteland thing in the Fallout 1 thread. However, I didn't know there was a Kickstarter going for it. That's awesome. I have pledged.

I'm a big fan of Kickstarter, and backed Wasteland 2 on day 2. It really deserves the chance to be as big as possible. Please go back it, even a couple bucks would help them. For $50 you get a physical copy of the game when it gets released. You get a digital-download for $15 I think, which is a freakin steal.

Anyway, not affiliated with them, just hoping it can be a huge game, which means it needs as much money as it can earn.
