I use Ultimate Lighting Overhaul and followed the download instructions for Hialgoboost for users of non-enb series mods witch use a d3d9.dll. I still get this error message when trying to launch Skyrim: "Failed to load d3d9_other.dll Error code c1" Anybody know what's going on?

I am also confused about getting DirectX 9. I have DirectX 11. I downloaded the file from the provided link, ran it, and the problem above occurred when I tried to start Skyrim. I tried installing directx 9 again and it wouldn't let me because it said a newer version had been detected and this one isn't needed. I've found conflicting information online: It is possible to run DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 along side each other, but DirectX won't let you downgrade, and also that the newest update for directX should contain all the dll libraries from previous versions too. Some clarification on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Hurray! I figured out the problem. I was using an old version of ULO. The newer versions are compatible with Hialgoboost.

New problem: Skyrim Performance Monitor is incompatible with Hialgoboost. I want to be able to see my FPS so I can gauge the improvement. Does anyone know of an alternative to SPM which is compatible with HiAlgo?

I have a quite low-end pc ( intel pentium dual core 2.2Ghz, 2GB Ram,Ati Radeon HD 5450) and so after a year of playing skyrim on 800*600 resolution I decided to use this mod.It worked fine in the beggining and so I changed the resolution to 1024*768 and switched the textures to High.Since then Skyrim started crashing after 15-20min of playing without any error(I also use many mods, non emb or other that impove visuals).

Hi
I am trying to get this to work with Kountervibe Enb (.199). It works allright and I get more fps but shadows have flickering lines on them when moving view and other shadow artefacts...
Setting "SAFE_MODE1 = true" in hiagloboost.ini (disables DOF) or just disabling DOF in enbseries gets rid of the flicker. Any fix that preserves DOF?
<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.mediafire.com/?x6f8ylpi87o7ekp'>Here</a> is my complete good looking (apart from the flicker) setup if anyone is interested.
<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.mediafire.com/?lub3dkb5a6o8ptt'>Picture of problem</a>
edit:
I switched to Season of skyrim enb but the problem is even worse.
And here is a similar video

Thanks!

My game is crashing after install, hialgo worked fine on my old computer, and I don't remember doing anything special to get it to work. I've tried all the steps in the readme, as well as the online readme, and none of it is working. This is a copy of the hialgo.log while running with safe modes on:

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I can't play Skyrim without this mod. If there's any additional info you need, let me know and I'll get back to you with it.

edit: Also I'm not using any mods when launching, and I don't us enbs.
When I run the uninstall.bat file, the cmd window says cannot find file multiple times and then says uninstallation complete, but the hialgo files stay in my folder. I have granted full control to myself, so thats not the issue. Not sure if this could be contributing.

No one provides any help or feedback for all these problems so what was the point of creating this thread? It's just misleading people that's all it's doing :(

I'm just going to make a comment on the mod itself here for people too see.  This gave me a very minor boost in FPS rate, but at the cost of having the word HiAlgo stuck in the upper right hand of screen constantly. One of the major appeals of Skyrim is it being immersive. A minor increase in the FPS is not worth the trade off in my opinion, as it breaks the immersion. So, tried and quickly deleted.

You can remove the logo by editing this line in the .ini file:

HIALGO_LOGO_OPACITY = 0

Just set to 0 and the logo will appear once at the start menu and then disappear.

Also for people saying their screens are blurring, this is actually how the mod is supposed to work. It halves your screen resolution when you move, thereby giving it better performance. 50% is far too much for me, so I edited the .ini file again and tweaked it to 75%, which seems to work well. Also, you can turn this particular feature off at any time by pressing SHIFT + END. Hialgo actually improves performance in other ways as well as this resolution-changing method, so just tweak until you find the right balance.

Hopefully this will help some people. I am yet to figure out how to stop the map from going so blurry its unreadable.

P.S. A lot of these problems are given solutions on the Hialgo website: http://www.hialgo.com/SkyrimFAQ.htm
