First, I like so much this mod, is one of my favorite lands to go when tamriel bothers me. I have Portable Portals and use it with some locations i prefer travel fast and always return. Also i have Private Quarters as a portal node. The point is that if:
1) you place a portal in Maranta world an then
2) you teleports another world and
3) save your game and close oblivion,
4) reload oblivion and the game saved, you will have a CTD every time you load the save (tested many times, with many saves)
However Ubanga works well mods such as Mark and Recall spells as i have Teleport to Everywhere and works like a charm.
Maybe few people use Potable Portals, and my oblivion is a heavy moded one but i think there is is a compatibility problem between Ubanga and PP. Seems to be a minor problem but who knows, it takes me some (little?) time and trouble to realize the problem .
Sorry my english, I'm not writing it frequently, i mostly read it.

I have been patiently waiting for this update, and I can say..worth the wait. I bow my head to your modding skills. You have created a beautiful and believable land for explorers such as me. The update is amazing, the topography well thought out and executed, amazing views to distant hills and mountains and the choice of land textures is spot on. Thank you so much for this, I would endorse again if I could.

You make it sound like revisiting now is very much worthwhile.
alimal - congratulations on completing another part of your land. I keep my fingers crossed for its success.

Thank Discov! It is a pity that there are so few players who like travel.
I also really like to travel, also in the real world.
No one today will not create a commercial game (for single player), with a really vast world. I know that if I do not I create such a game, no one else will be do it. Big guns, big tits and a fast travel - here are the determinants of the modern games. "The vast world? Oh no! This is so boring! No one will to play it! We do not earn on it!"

But alimal, look, this vastness (or the healthy mixture of all elements) is exactly one of the major reasons why TES series has been so successful. There's hardly any other game that's lived and thrived for so long. Big guns or other weapons? Meh. Tits? There are billions of websites that do it far better than any game. Fast travel? A matter of taste (I'm not a fan, but side quests, easter eggs, etc. can be a nice incentive to walk the map instead of jumping it). I think the primary magnet is the scope, the size of the map to explore, and the number and variety of quests - or the relative freedom to add more and more user-made content. Look at the other massively popular series - GTA. So many people look forward to each new installment. It doesn't even matter that the graphics in San Andreas look so clunky these days - it still rules because - apart from great storyline and acting - it has a large map full of interesting locations to explore.
I can also tell you that once you complete Ubanga it will be my playground and field of experimentation in quest design. It's massively beautiful and there's little chance of conflicts with other mods. I only hope there are also other people interested enough to add things to do in Ubanga so that travelling there is even more fun.

I am sure people is going to contribute to make this project better than it is already, unbelievable good work alimal.
Edit: I think is time for us to make Ubanga a file of the month.

I installed the mod and I bought a ticket and walked into town and left to explore and then the Mountains in the distance started to change colours. I removed the entire mod and reinstalled and the same thing happened. Does this mod require Large textures to be on? I play in medium textures. Could this be the problem?

Yeah that is it. The rainbow distant textures effect typically come from playing at medium or small textures when the mod only has large textures for LOD.
