Sounds like Michael Gambon to me (a vicious MG is in The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover a world apart from Dumbledore's stand-in for the late lamented Richard Harris superbly cast originally for that role)

The announcement tells me zippo! I'd need a bit more than that to tempt me, essentially a single person RPG/pc player, into participating in this! Why would the empire descend into chaos? True with the death of Martin Septim there is no immediately recognisable heir but the council who have been running the place pretty well have only the likelihood of dealing with "more autonomy" claims from the provinces. We know that the High Elves emerge as a dominant force but apart from describing how they went from a bunch of snooty mages to an unstoppable military and political machine there isn't a lot left to the imagination. Anyway role playing it would mean you would need to be a High Elf in order to win (or maybe a hybrid frost troll)

The game is set before Oblivion............

Martin's death has nothing to do with it.

teaser trailer is a tease. they tease thats what they do.

@Thingamajig

you do know this isnt made by BGS. so zenimax online studios isnt gonna help making single player games.

Sigh, i'm well aware - people feel the need to reiterate that a lot. You do know Zenimax own BGS? Neither company have infinite resources. If Zenimax decides they want BGS to divert resources from the Single Player TES, they will. They have the final say. It may not happen, it may happen, in these current economic times, i think it's likely to happen.

You know, i'd love to say this game could be awesome, but my gut instinct and past experiences of MMO's tells me otherwise. Plus, TES has never been an online game. I don't need nor want spambots, loners, trollers and cheaters ruining what could otherwise be a rich, immersive gaming experience. And if you're going to play this MMO for the lore, don't expect much of it. Most MMO's keep away from that malarky for the sake of extra revenue.

If they wanted to divert resources they wouldn't have made a separate studio

Oh, yeah, that was definitely Michael. Unless of course they got someone who could imitate him perfectly.

Zenimax has already invested 4 years, 250 employees, and who knows how much money into developing this. I don't care how many studios they create in how many locations. If this thing is approaching release and looks like a flop, Zenimax will do whatever they think is necessary to salvage it. This could mean pulling in people from BGS whether the BGS folks have any desire to help or not.

EDIT: Always remember "The Golden Rule", which is whoever has the gold, makes the rules. Zenimax has the gold. They will tell BGS what they want and BGS will have to do it.

Characters are meant to look dodgy, its only beta. I played RIFT and Champions Online (DC Universe to) in BETA and the characters looked terrible. They never give full textures in beta, its a gameplay tester and glitch finder. I cant believe how many people are bashing the game based on a single screenshot. Im not being a fanboy (well maybe a little) but anything Bethesda touches is gold in my eyes, but if it flops I'll point out the faults.
The problem is their jumping into a market still dominated by WoW. And nothings been able to topple it, because even if they try something different it scares people away because its not familiar and if they copy WoW they get told their to much like it. Its a thin line they have to walk to make a great MMO these days.
It doesnt have to be a WoW killer, it just has to be something people will enjoy playing, for the lore especially. They have YEARS of lore they can build a world on. Im looking forward to it to be honest. I'll play it and see if its good or not. I may stop. But the lore is what keeps me going back to skyrim, oblivion and morrowind, and Oblivion and Morrowind look like ass. Its not all about graphics, long as the gameplay is solid and fun then I dont care!

@walrus2517
even if it did flop which is very unlikely. BGS would be fine i dont think most people understand how much bigger and richer zenimax has gotten in the last 6 years. now on to the "flop" thing everyone talks about. theres pretty much no chance of it "flopping". but most non-mmo players think if doesnt sell like WOW then its a flop and they shut it down in less then a year. even mmo's that do flop dont close in less then a year. it doesnt have to sell like wow to be successful.

@ZoCks
i thought the same the chars like cartoony but the envirments look like an elder scrolls. too bad they havent shown argonians or the blackmarsh. maybe e3 will show more
