@ZoCks Ty for posting the screenshot. Looks kinda Morrowind-ish with clearer graphics. I personally dont care about how WOW-ish the game looks as long as it stays true to the sandbox/open-ended game style.
Infact, having so little info about the game its probably best not to judge the game too much on screenshots and videos (or other MMOs) until we hear the details of the mechanics of the game. They could take the MMO genre to the next level...hoping. Like if modding can be included, can you make quest for players and become a nPC/questgiver of sorts? Is each continent a realm itself? Will this game be the basis for future single player TES games or is Zenimax doing its own thing?
Lots of questions! Should be interesting!!

I have absolutely zero confidence in this game. What makes Elder Scrolls that game I keep returning to is the mod community and the eventual official DLCs.
This will likely just be the same Old Republic, WoW, Tera, Aion, etc. clone and I'm just tired of those. If they want more money out of the TES franchise then they should focus on releasing DLC because I can honestly say that Dawnguard is a day-one purchase for me irregardless of whether it's good or not.

"Ahhh so you've finally arrived! I'm afraid the port is overrun with skeevers right now so I can't issue you with your release papers until we've sorted the problem out. If you want to help out, go and kill 20 skeevers and report back to me"
Quest enabled. Kill 20 skeevers and report back to the harbor master.

@Deist
from what i read from gameinformer no, this plays like an mmo expect you dont get stun-locked or something with enough stamina and you can block. doesnt sounds like R.N.G. block like wow does, but a block button to... block.
@Pow_R_Toc_H
the preview talks about them staying away from quest like that. they want to make quest the TES games have. all the guilds are joinable by anyone. i just hope its not grindfest factions like other mmos.

So 3 factions from the look of the logo. Represented by the heads of a Lion, an Eagle and a Dragon.

Apparently there is a stamina feature that can be used for a variety of things including
-Sprinting
-Blocking
-Interrupting
-Breaking free of spell effects such as frost spells that paralyze you

Please don't link to leaked content, you will not be fond of the results.
I don't care if it is posted elsewhere, if it is not official it is leaked content and you will pay the price for linking to it.

@hector530 - I highly doubt this will be a flop but I also highly doubt it will be a monetary success given what seems to be an incredibly large investment. And it doesn't matter how much Zenimax has made recently. This is still 4 years, 250 employees, and who knows how many millions that could have been invested elsewhere. That is why so many people are upset about this announcement. They could have used that time and those resources sticking to the areas where they are already the industry leader; making superior open world RPGs. Instead they are joining a highly saturated market where there is already a near identical competitor dominating said market.
The fact is, this has been tried many times before and has been met with more failures (SWTOR, FF Online), than successes (WoW). However, with all that being said, I hope this is an absolutely groundbreaking game they make a gigantic stack of money on. The absolute last thing I want is a commercial flop that does end up forcing them to scale back on the development of games I actually want to play. While I have zero intentions of ever playing TES online (unless it's free), I'm certainly wishing them all the best now that they've already put so much into it. It's just not a decision I would've made, but then no one from Zenimax ever called to ask my opinion anyway.
As I said in a post yesterday, make this announcement in May of 2010 and it's huge. In May of 2012 people are already over it.
EDIT: I guess to sum it all up, anyone who cares about the future of TES wants this to be a success whether they think it was a good idea or not. It's just very frustrating they've done this for those who think the resources could've been better invested elsewhere.
