Better get Steam back offline again...just in case the patch goes live without them telling us first again, and before SKSE and the other essentials get updated.

^ this, since the "no auto update" thing in properties doesn't prevent updates as it seems to be reset continually to default.

The Skyrim Unplugged mod lets you disable the autoupdate "feature" of Steam. You should still make a backup of your currrent TESV.exe file, even if you use that mod, so you'll always have your own copy.

What exactly is the navmesh bug?

@Lutine

Going to take a stab at defining that and since I have zero knowledge of modding this should be entertaining for those who do.

Navmesh bug is the navigational mesh that NPCs and creatures and the like need to move around, the thing that allows followers to actually perform its "relax" functions when not in your service instead of just walking into a table for 40 straight minutes (if they can even walk at all). I think it also might allow for things like water to travel in a proper path and when to appear as if it's going off an edge like a waterfall.

So when it bugs out, things that can move, either wont, or will walk directly into rocks and walls.

@Lutine --- It causes NPCs to stop moving in modder created cells after leaving and then returning. Currently the only workarounds involve restarting Skyrim and converting the .esp to an .esm, but each presents their own problems.
The bug has been around in some form since Fallout 3, so if it is fixed, it will be very good news.

Got update, went to Riften Stables and bought a horse (don't have Shadowmere yet), and as soon as I equipped my bow, a dragon attacks. Dragon killed by me, on horseback, with bow. I am content now. :)

For those that have the problem where your character stands frozen on the horse after drawing your weapon, navigate to:

steamapps\common\skyrim\data\meshes\actors\character

Check to see if you have one or two folders titled "characters" and "characters female".

Inside, there may be files titled "defaultmale.hkx" and "defaultfemale.hkx" respectively. Deleting those seems to fix the problem, at least it did in my case.

I have no idea as to which mod(s) they belonged to. If this does not fix your problem, then maybe it'll point you in the right direction, knowing that it may be some rogue .hkx files. Good luck!

Geez, dunno how I've never heard of that mod. Excellent stuff, thanks!
