@Killerbuddy:

Okay, I'll trade some rain for some California sun!.. I miss California and last time I was there, was for work... :facepalm: Whereabout are you from?

Nope, I don't have a Mod Organizer, is that on Nexus? I try to keep a written log on a notepad, but sort of lost track erasing buggy saves and creating new ones... I guess I should use Wyrebash too but though I'm fairly at ease with my computer, I'm kinda novice to modding (3 or 4 months - played on PS3 before), is that easy to use?

Had to pcb yesterday to enter a quest ruin that loaded in a gigantic blue void with some chunks of rocks and Draugrs floating around... Clearing your quest log is a crazy race: you manage to clear one, and foolishly read a book from a dead NPC's inventory that.... starts a new quest!.. :wallbash:

Many thanks again for your reply - sometimes, getting lost in "CTD-mod related or not?-darn which mod could it be?", you easily forget the obvious!..

Welcome to the mod[frustration] club! I, too, play on a PS3 as my primary character. I'm trying to do ALL the sidequests before I finish the main one on the PS3. I use my PC to play with mods, and have also been doing so for about 4 months now. The Nexus Mod Manager is an essential tool to keeping track of what is installed and uninstalled. At least, for me, it does a fairly good job of removing mods, but I've learned from this thread that saved games with prior mods just are not stable.

I'm going to have to start over, and dread the process, but I see no alternative in that I get CTD's and freezes or non-starts (when loading prior saves) all the time now.

@Hoamaii
Sounds good! I am from LA area roughly. Lived in the mountains above LA for my high school years, away from all the surrounding crap areas lol.

Yeah, Mod Organizer is on the Nexus. Very neat tool. As it installs the mods you want into it's own directory, not the game's directory. Through some niffty magic, it makes the game load it's directory with mods as if it were in it's own directory( to put it in very basic terms, since I do not remember how specifically it does it LOL ). MO allows you to run executables through it, so you can run WyreBash though the MO, along with downloading mods off of the Nexus with it and it can install Nexus scripted downloads! It is pretty straight forward on the usage. Just have to spend time reading the instructions, so you know how it works and what all the functions are. To me, it is a little more user firendly than WyreBash.

I first started this game with the Xbox 360. Actually, I got both when it first came out lol. After like 200 hours of it on Xbox, I went to my gaming laptop to start fn with mods and have been on here for quite a while lol. About like 4 playthroughs, amassing a total amount of nearly 500 hours. It is pretty pathetic lol. Damn you Skyrim.

Ahhh, the good ol' dissapearing interiors. Don't you love it when you are running around, everyhitng is all good and dandy, but then you enter am interior and boom. It's like the game is luring you into a false sense of security, just so it can suprise you with stuff not working lol.

@mike2977
I know what you mean. My playthrough before my brand new one now was my favorite playthrough. Had a lot of awesome, immersive mods and everythign was just right, until I realized the save game was just way too corrupted from old mods that had scripts that stayed in my save game =/ bummed me out. So, for the past like two weeks, I haven't even played the game. I have been looking at mods, messing with tools such as the MO and WyreBash/SkyBash/Automatic Variants. Also looking into getting ASIS as well, but I am waiting for a few more updates for even more stability.

@ Mike2977:

Well, the "mod world" is not so much frustrating as it is puzzling to me, so far... and I hope it'll stay that way (not frustrating, I mean - the puzzling part I hope to slowly master!). I've been using NMM from the start but I like downloading manually to check the files content before I install them - I guess it gives me a false illusion of understanding what I'm doing... ;)

A couple of times, I went back to my PS3 game but that is where I get frustrated!.. I like to ride around and never fast travel, and watching my followers trott behind my horse looks real stupid now!.. What kind of self-respecting Dohvakiin would let them "carry his burdens" all around Skyrim and not ever buy them a horse?!.. (or a donkey!.. a troll? something!..)

As for starting a new game, arrgh!.. My goal is to reach level 81 in this game, I'm level 73 on PS3 with all quests done (well, all the ones that showed in my log) and leveling up is soooo slow now!.. On PC, I'm level 61 (most of my mods, I've been using for 20 or 25 levels) and been purposefully avoiding to advance all main quests... I guess that's why I urgently need to clear my quest log a bit now, hehe...

One tiny piece of (cheap) advice from a "novice" to another: be careful with graphic mods, they eat up a lot of RAM and running out of RAM means crashes for sure. My experience is freezes are related to your GPU getting a bit overwhelmed, and CTBs by your GPU shutting down altogether. Hopefully, there's something to be done there. Non-starts, I've never had so far... cross my fingers...

Don't stop trying though, that game is really good!.. Cheers Mike!

@ Killerbuddy:

500 hours, hey?.. Roughly around the same amount here too! Couldn't believe it, it felt like "have I NOT been sleeping at all for all these months?!.." Oh well, my Dovahkiin sleeps for the both of us, or else ores don't respawn!.. ;)

Just checked on Mod Manager, thanks a lot for the advice, I'll give it a try - there's so many great tools on Nexus, exploring that takes time too!.. You mean MO is an alternative to Wyrebash or you need them both?.. I've always been a bit shy with Wyrebash, guess I should double check...

A sense of false security?.. Yeah, I know, I felt relieved when I managed to reach Vlindrel Hall yesterday with a couple of quests cleared and my inventory full, only to find that my enchanting table has been replaced with this grey-blue void and a crescent of bright lights like a Cylon mothership is waiting there to attack!.. I'd be terrified if that happened in my Paris apartment!.. Cheers, man ;D

Hey all,

I was wondering if maybe I could get some advice. I keep getting crashes and the last entries in the papyrus look like this:

[07/14/2012 - 05:41:31PM] error: Cannot call Stop() on a None object, aborting function call

I get the FXCameraAttach and the lvlpredatorscript almost every time. I have a fairly extensive mod list and was wondering if anyone could tell me what I should be looking for as the culprit? I do understand I'll likely have to load earlier saves. I just want to get the bad mod out of the stack.

Thanks so much. Cheers.

@WHITELION1284

Unfortunately, my knowledge of script issues is pretty limited. The lvlPredatorScript.psc sounds sort of familiar though. Have you tried other remedies yet? You may be overloading your game with too many mods.
Are you using mods like SkyTest and Real Wildlife? Those are the two mods that come to my mind with that particular script, although I may be wrong.

@Hoamaii

Well see, MO can run WyreBash through it, along with other executable files. It is one of my favorite features about MO. All you need to do is set the path up in the executables and you are good to go. More detailed info in the wiki that is on the mod page.

Hello,

I've ran into this one twice:

[<NULL form> (FF001340)].ObjectReference.Disable() - "<native>" Line ?
[<NULL form> (FF00131C)].PortableLightsPLCR.OnLoad() - "PortableLightsPLCR.psc" Line 25
[07/16/2012 - 10:28:34AM] error: Unable to call Disable - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type
stack:

I got installed portable campfires and portable lanterns, my guess is that the script is making a reference to portable lanterns. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance :)

I've reinstalled my Skyrim, as well as my mods and I'm experiencing CTDs outside.
I just made a new game, and transferred her face from a previous save to this new one - so it's completely fresh other than that. I open the save and start playing (I'm using alternate start - camping in the woods option) and when I get to the burnt body and pick up the journal, I go to my inventory and it CTDs. I'm hoping someone can help me, I'm so sick of all these crashes >.>

Here's the log I get;
Spoiler

EDIT: Just to say, I made another new character, played around with her in Falkreath for about 40mins all within the inn, the blacksmith (outside) and the general store. As soon as I went out the gates of Falkreath it CTD'd.
Here's the log for it;
Spoiler
