@ Mike2977:
Well, the "mod world" is not so much frustrating as it is puzzling to me, so far... and I hope it'll stay that way (not frustrating, I mean - the puzzling part I hope to slowly master!). I've been using NMM from the start but I like downloading manually to check the files content before I install them - I guess it gives me a false illusion of understanding what I'm doing...
A couple of times, I went back to my PS3 game but that is where I get frustrated!.. I like to ride around and never fast travel, and watching my followers trott behind my horse looks real stupid now!.. What kind of self-respecting Dohvakiin would let them "carry his burdens" all around Skyrim and not ever buy them a horse?!.. (or a donkey!.. a troll? something!..)
As for starting a new game, arrgh!.. My goal is to reach level 81 in this game, I'm level 73 on PS3 with all quests done (well, all the ones that showed in my log) and leveling up is soooo slow now!.. On PC, I'm level 61 (most of my mods, I've been using for 20 or 25 levels) and been purposefully avoiding to advance all main quests... I guess that's why I urgently need to clear my quest log a bit now, hehe...
One tiny piece of (cheap) advice from a "novice" to another: be careful with graphic mods, they eat up a lot of RAM and running out of RAM means crashes for sure. My experience is freezes are related to your GPU getting a bit overwhelmed, and CTBs by your GPU shutting down altogether. Hopefully, there's something to be done there. Non-starts, I've never had so far... cross my fingers...
Don't stop trying though, that game is really good!.. Cheers Mike!
@ Killerbuddy:
500 hours, hey?.. Roughly around the same amount here too! Couldn't believe it, it felt like "have I NOT been sleeping at all for all these months?!.." Oh well, my Dovahkiin sleeps for the both of us, or else ores don't respawn!..
Just checked on Mod Manager, thanks a lot for the advice, I'll give it a try - there's so many great tools on Nexus, exploring that takes time too!.. You mean MO is an alternative to Wyrebash or you need them both?.. I've always been a bit shy with Wyrebash, guess I should double check...
A sense of false security?.. Yeah, I know, I felt relieved when I managed to reach Vlindrel Hall yesterday with a couple of quests cleared and my inventory full, only to find that my enchanting table has been replaced with this grey-blue void and a crescent of bright lights like a Cylon mothership is waiting there to attack!.. I'd be terrified if that happened in my Paris apartment!.. Cheers, man
