Pretty much everything is hard in the beginning, especially because I find very few 1v1 encounters, which would really help.

The key is try and make it that type of battle as much as possible by using Conjurations, Followers, sniping/sneak-killing a guy, using Fury, or hit-and-run. Use the environment to line them up, perhaps in a doorway. Once I ran back to some Whiterun guards and had them take a few out for me. You don't feel like a badass that way, but in the early game you aren't a badass.

Persevere and it will get easier, or so I read. I have yet to get myself above level 5. :-)

I might be crazy, but it seems like for the perks that have two levels, like the first star in the block constellation, the description of the 2nd level doesn't show up until after I take the 2nd level perk.

If I'm crazy, just let me know. If I'm not, I wanted to point it out as a bug needing fixing.

ok got 2 questions.
1. Immersive armors, is there anywhere that has a lists of which armors were selected?
2. Does anyone no if requiem is compatible with mods that change race heights like they were in morfowind?

Doesn't the perk for the second rank show up after you take the first rank? I thought it did.

I can't answer the first but I believe that if you use a mod that alters race height it also will alter other racial traits, usually back to vanilla settings, which would definitely conflict with Requiem. You can, however, edit these out using TES5Edit.

@jimhorton

Does the race menu mod work well with Requiem? I've thought of giving it a try but wondered about conflicts.

Melee characters progress very well. I used to play an adventurer with light armor, bow, shield and axe, and lemme tell you: by level 11 you can handle almost every encounter in melee - you just need some strategy, like using traps in dungeons to help you, fury poison on your bow, and well timed blocking. At the early levels, melee combat is hard, but it's worth it later.

@ Stagnetti

Combat is hard. You either adapt or die, looks your doing more of the latter. You kill fast or die fast... simple. It's called realism, if you are having a hard time with one particular enemy then let us know and we could help.

There is an optional for the font, turn it off if you don't like it.

The combat isnt realistic by any means, it's still vanilla with higher damage and some minor AI changes. "Adapting" by juking behind rocks or whatever doesnt add depth, youre just gaming the system.

@fleabittendog, not all negative criticism is meant to troll on the internet. The mod didnt warrant a 3 paragraph dissertation that wouldnt be read anyway. People dont want to hear actual criticism anymore, so the original post was deleted anyway for being inflammatory I'm sure.

Edit: I'm actually going to give the mod a second try (with font disabled) and see if I can manage without using gimpy tactics and being aware of enemy relative strength. We'll see how I feel then.

I haven't had a single problem. It doesn't actually change anything except cosmetics anyway. All the racial abilities are preserved. (The only thing I'd change about Requiem is the Khajit magic nerf)
