Same kind of a thing happened for me when I was playing thru Dawnguard, except she raised a GOAT.

Just to confirm - right now only Illusion benefits from "empowering" right? Others essentially still follow vanilla gameplay when "dualcasting" right?
Also, by how much does the Focused Mind perk increase magicka regen? An experimental setup I have (Ring of Recovery + Master Robes so +500% regen with some light armor and 300 magicka max) has me recover my magicka fully with 14 seconds w/o the perk and 12 seconds with it - so I'm interested in knowing if the perk adds to the total regen like the Ring of Recovery or to the base natural regen like the Ring of Erudite [ie. should I take it now or later ?

correct, although the term "empowering" is used throughout the mod as a replacement for "dualcasting" for immersive reasons.

aye, thanks for the info xD (though since you probably just read the first question since I edited it, I might as well ask about it also

Nothing I can answer for sure without the CK at hand.
Actually, I am not even sure if it has regeneration buff at all or only negates some debuffs, i.e. the running and impact ones.

well, I'm only basing it on the flavour text
but yeah, as I noted, there is indeed a regen buff, except I just don't know how much it is. I guess I'll pass for now.
one last question for now: how accurate are the stuff in this post: http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/topic/5327-wip-requiem-the-oldschool-roleplaying-overhaul/ ?
I mean, relative to the current version of course? That post seems to have been last edited October 7, so I'm interested in knowing if a lot has changed or most of the stuff written there is still accurate (for example, I believe you've changed some/all of the statistics boosts to the formula outlined in the manual, but I haven't noticed any mentions regarding the shrines so I'm hoping the stuff in that post is accurate on that regard)

How much damage does spectral arrow?
I have 51 in conjuration and I can kill a necromancer with just one arrow, is that normal?

Yeah, healing potions/poultices are useless. Healing is bit of a bother when you're a vampire. There is an advanced conjuration spell (Necromantic Healing II), your Drain Life spell, and feeding. The problem with feeding is that you can only do it on sleeping targets when you are Stage I, and it has a habit of killing townspeople. Though it isn't that much of a problem if you're fighting weak-ish humanoids, just drain their left-over blood after the fight (they'll drop an item called "Blood", which you can consume. If you have the time and energy, you can bottle that blood into a healing/oh-s***-I'm-stage-four potion, but its rather expensive, get the first alchemy and smithing perk and check at a smelter. Each bottle requires malachite and gold ingots, salt, and venomous spittle, and is non-reusable).
Fighting vamps isn't hard at all. Just get the blessing of stendarr (oh, btw, the blessing description on the active effects tab says nada about the +10 to block it confers) which protects against drain, a silver sword, and some magic resistance, and you're golden. The blessing lasts ridiculously long, too, so it ought to see you through the entire questline without reapplication.
About arrows. Vampires are less vulnerable, but in my experience 4-5 arrows can still kill you outright without armor, so you might want to rethink the robes bit. I tried a armorless vampire, and it simply didn't work out. They're nowhere near invulnerable to arrows. Or maces, as I learned at great cost. Illusion and stealth bonuses exist, but they're only for fully fed vampires.
Stat boosts are lovely. You get something like +400 health and stamina. But stay out of the sun. The sun will neuter your vamp. Magicka and Stamina regen drops to zero, bonus health/stamina evaporates. And this is when you're well fed. If you drop to stage 2 or higher, instant death. (take this with a pinch of salt, it is possible it is just a -150 to health per stage after 1, but in my character's case, this was a purely academic point). And save a LOT if you plan to roam around in the day, because if you drop from stage 1 to 2 and are out in the open, insta-death.
And do yourself a favour and lengthen the death-reload option in the Requiem MCM. Eventually you're going to walk out into the sun and insta-die, but not before the game auto-saves. And with that miniscule reload delay, you get stuck in a reload-die loop. I once had to force-quit Skyrim because I couldn't hit the menu key in the tiny window I had.
Also, finally, I'd suggest getting Dynamic Vampire Appearance. It just looks fantastic. And disable IMCN if you're using it, it doesn't play well with feeding on seduced people.

Playing a mage in Requiem sucks, but playing an archmage seems to be totally different story. I just killed Lokil at the beginning of the Dawnguard questline and I gotta say it was the most entertaining battle during this playthrough.
Below is the list of spells I used during that battle. Some are from Apocalypse Spell Package, but they are fairly balanced and fit Requiem pretty well.
Healing Aura III (dual cast)
Vampire:
Gate
Turn Undead III
Burn Undead (dual cast)
Sunfire (dual cast)
Vampire's Thrall:
Greater Lightning Rune (dual cast)
Lokil:
Greater Lightning Rune (dual cast)
Arcane Ward IV
Drain Essence
Teleport
Circle of the Moon (dual cast)
Greater Lightning Rune (dual cast)
Become Ethereal I
Circle of Protection (dual cast)
Arcane Ward IV
Drain Essence
Become Ethereal I
Turn Undead III
Burn Undead (dual cast)
Drain Essence
I wonder how melee warriors kill vampire bosses without getting instakilled by their drain.

Is being blessed by Stendarr the only way to stop vampire drain? I'm playing a pure melee character that's killed a few innocents, so the divines hate me, and I'm worried I've screwed myself royally for the Dawnguard questline. I know there's that optional file for getting blessings back but I'd rather live with my choices if it's possible to beat a master vamp without drain immunity.
