Hello there,
I have been having issues with the reqtificator. It gave me an error about symbolic links not working on my OS, and to contact the mod author. (windows 7 64 bit)
so I went ahead and tried to use it with hard links, by clicking the reqtificator directly, but then it says that I need admin rights because it's trying to install symbolic links. I read the manual and unless I am losing my mind (possible) it said that clicking the reqtificator directly installs using hard links. How can I either fix the OS compatibility issue or choose to install hard links? Thank you for the assistance, and sorry if this has been posted before, I might not have gone far back enough.

I'm finding in 1.8.1.1 that I prefer crossbows over bows as they are ready to fire when you need them. So, I just learned Elven blacksmithing and made an Elven Crossbow. However I frequently switch from weapons to spells and I find the crossbow causes an engine stutter when you switch to it. I tried putting Requiem's files on a very fast SSD with no effect. Also tried putting it on a RAM disk with no effect. Tried optimizing the "elvencrossbow.nif" and textures with SMCO, but nothing so far has eliminated the stutter. It is bad enough that I really don't like using it.
The iron crossbow, steel crossbow, and dwarven all work without stutter. No other weapons I have tried showed a stutter. I haven't tried glass+ or Orcish+ yet. My game in general runs very smooth at a constant frame limited 50fps on recent high-end hardware so I don't think its my system.
EDIT: Incidentally trying Equipping Overhaul just now with geared up active allows the crossbow to stay loaded on my back and totally eliminates the stutter with switching but of course it isn't working right with Requiem.

It's even odder, because the new Silverknight textures were supposed to fix this problem and I tested them without problems on "medium" texture settings. :|

You should check your texture mods, the crossbows from DjJoJo (everything better than steel) use new meshes that are filled with Vanilla textures, if they stutter, you most likely have some super-quality elven textures installed.
p.s. As written in the first sticky post of main forum Requiem 1.8 and "Geared Up" from Equipping Overhaul are fundamentally incompatible!

I am using Windows 7, 64bit myself, so I highly doubt that your OS does not support symbolic links.
And what I wrote is that you do not need the script wrapper, if you want hard links. This does not mean that you do not need to specify it explicitly in the patcher. Open the other settings tab and check hardlinks before starting the patch process.
