I love elven stuff, Like many I don't know very much about all the lore that goes along with them. I haven't had the chance to play morrowind. If Dwemer are elves what happened to all the dwarven weaponry? I do have OOO and i think that changes things.

I have to say im throwing my lot in with the Ayleids. Yes the Dwemer were technologicaly adavanced and on the other hand the Ayleids were masters of magic so its fairly even there. However look at the architecture - the Ayleid buildings are elegand and beatufifull whereas Dwemer building well, arent. And look at white gold tower, if building that thing doesnt set them as greater than other achient elven races i don't know what does! And ok some of this is coming form the fact im a massive Oblivion fanboy buy I think the Ayleids are superior. Indeed, i find their history far more ocmpelling than that of the Dwemer.

I would however like to raise a parrellel between the races. Both ore anchient and virtualy extict elven races and the demise of both was brought down somewhat by their own pride. Theres osmething to think about I suppose.

I really dont think its fair to say the ayleids are better if you havent even played morrowind. About half of the people who sided with ayleids did so just because they prefer elven armor over dwarven armor. Now, if you made an informed decision and chose ayleid, then i respect that. However, having played both morrowind and oblivion, i say that the dwemer are waaaaayyy better. There arcitecture, while not as attractive, was way more efficient. They were also masters of warfare, and there weapons and war machines could take down the ayleid's magic any day. They were also a much more advanced race, and knew basically everything about everything. So again, dont side with ayleid just because you havent played morrowind.

Just because the elves made elegant and quick weapons, dosent mean that their weaponry is better. A Viking sword has actually broken a katana. Dont forget, the Dwarves built Numidium, which massacred everything.
