@bLaCkShAdOw But that is also illegal. And it can be buggy, as Bethesda has more tools than we do. I've been told the Dead Money DLC was buggy when it was ported when the DLC was an exclusive. But that exclusive DLC was meant for the 360 only anyways. Bethesda has the proper tools to make it work for another console. If we do it, we might mess it up. Yes, we have great modders, but modders can't do anything if they don't have right tools. And tools that kind of work, can mess the game up more.

Well the biggest hiccup is from porting things from the PC and 360 to the PS3. Sony Playstation loves to code with Assembly as opposed to the PC and 360 which essentially are both PC's. So I can understand that taking time. Patches and fixes did come out and enabled horse combat.

Now if it is a timed exclusive, Microsoft will have atleast purchased a 3 to 6 months exclusive so maybe they have aspirations to release it for Xmas.

Exactly, what Camona Tong said, they wouldnt have put the resources in if they werent going to put Dawnguard on PC... Plus, Dawnguard was made on the PC, Todd Howard himself said it would come to PC later, its been two days!!! TWO FREAKIN DAYS! People should just relax, this is making a storm in a tea cup All these people who are "they're never going to release it for PC!! RAGE" are like little toddlers who haven't gotten they're new toy yet or something Dawnguard will probably come after the 1.7 official update...or just before it, that could be on Tuesday, since the Steam Store thing only updates on a Tuesday

I have a feeling that Dawnguard is xbox exclusive and never to be released for PC. We will probably get other DLC. I heard this kind of rumor long ago.

and give up a guaranteed souce of income.... why?

"bethesda doesnt care about PC, only xbox. they only care about money" .....funny thing is console users say the same about PC users because we have the creation kit

"bethesda wont release dawnguard and lose potential profit to stick it to PC gamers" wait, if bethesda is ultra greedy why give up potential profit? if bethesda really wanted to stick it to PC gamers they wouldnt have released the CK.

lol i love conspiracy theories. remember how steam's workshop was supposed to kill nexus and charge us for mods or how about the rumor that bethesda was never gonna release the CK!!!

Dawnguard will come to the other platforms sooner rather than later. Anyone who was expecting it on day one of the exclusivity contract's termination was kidding themselves. There wasn't a day one release of Dead Money for FNV and it was under the exact same contract. There are three things that could be and likely are delaying the release to other platforms. 1. Prep-work: In order to release a DLC you have to do prep-work, you have to line up server space allocations, talk with your distributors and create advertising. This work may have not been legally possible under the terms of the exclusivity contract with Microsoft, so may only have just begun. 2. 1.7: While Dawnguard may seem good to go because it "seems fine on the Xbox", it very probably isn't, there is most definitely numerous undocumented Dawnguard related fixes in 1.7. We also have to remember that without 1.7 Dawnguard WILL NOT work on PS3, and if Bethesda has their hearts set on a PC + PS3 co-release (would save them some money) then that will be an issue too. My guess is once 1.7's live date gets fixed we will get Dawnguard's release date too. 3. Certification: Also expect Sony to want to certify both Dawnguard and 1.7, this will cause delays too. The truth is Bethesda's biggest fault at the moment is the lack of transparency in this issue. If they explained why they don't have a date yet, rather than just giving out the exact same line they gave before the Xbox release, then there would be a lot less grumbling (there will still be grumbling, but noticably less).

It'll be released just as buggy as it was for the 360.

@stonedhippos lol Im far from a fanboy. Im sorry if I just happen to prefer them over some of the others who are more concerned about money then the product. They could have easily given us the 360 version of the game, but they havent. Why? Because its not ready. How are you missing that. The DLC is finished. Obviously. But its not ready to be shipped for pc, because of some issues they mentioned on twitter a while back.
Of course I'm not happy they left it til today to mention it wasnt ready (well last 2 days) but the lack of any news about its release was a dead give away, they just confirmed it.
Your the kinda guy who starts eating the meat out of the sandwich before its made and complains that its not a very good sandwich. I made it into a food reference so it'd be easier for you to comprehend.
Also thank you for pointing out that companies want to make money! Do you think they'd make money if they released a broken copy of the DLC? First reviews to hit would mention how bad it was, people would buy it of course but based on the fact that it wasnt working a lot of people woudl hold off (ie PS3 sales of the game). By the time they'd fix it, say, a month, people would have forgotten about it and sales would dwindle. By holding off and releasing a completed, functioning copy of the DLC they assure the most bang for their buck. Also you seem to forget that they released a great deal of additions with the last patch, for free. Last time features were added to a game for free was em, around about the time Modern Warfare brought out their final patch and the map packs, thats about 6 years ago.
Releasing a completed product insures more money for them. Thank you for making my point for me.

Its good to see a majority of people are acting mature about this delay and accepting it. Its not like we're stuck for content. I added 2 new missions, 80 odd fully voiced NPC's and a new town to my game in the last 4 hours. I'm not jonesing for Dawnguard, sure, disappointed I have to wait, but I'd prefer disappointed over raging because my save games been corrupted by unfinished scripts and broken quest lines leaving me stranded with nothing to do.
My brother has Dawnguard on our xbox and I could have played it back when it came out, but I prefer PC and I'm willing to wait til its here. Til then, like I said, we're having this discussion on a modding site which has added more content to the game then there was in the vanilla game. Your not entitled to anything, your welcome to it when they say its ok.

I must have missed that comment about it coming to the PC.
No one is raging here, atleast I am not. I am just not trying to create false hopes of
a Near release of Dawnguard.

Mr. Howard may have said that. But Mr. Hines said they havnet planned for a release of it on another system currently and said that he would announce it so when they do.

Never relase it for Skyrim? I guess you mean PC?

It may or may not get released in conjunction with 1.7. Though I see a time line closer to Xmas just for sales purposes, since PC gamers tend to play games longer than consoles, so they know they will still have a market for it when they do decide to release it.

I am pretty much willing to be money however that the delay in release would be more to do exclusive rights than bug and patches.

@SpcSpectre I hope your wrong about the closer to Christmas thing, because I'll be back in college :D
But you pretty much hit the nail on the head. PC version last far longer then the console version. More playability, more flexibility and more fun. Let the xbox have it, ive yet to complete the whole game.
