I think this is a bug, but if anyone can help me on a work-around, that would be much appreciated.
I am i the Cheydinhal Oblivion Gate, and I have taken the Sigil Stone. After the brief wait for the gate to disperse, when the screen clears I am still inside the gate.
If I go down the stairs, the screen gets whiter and whiter, until I can't see anything. Using the console to try and close the gate does not work either.
I have seen this same problem posted on another forum, but no solution that I could find.
Any help or suggestions, please?
Game: Oblivion (Latest Patch) + all official downloads inc. Shivering Isle.

Game bug is stopping me progressing

Hi. Just to let you know you need not close all the city gates to finish the MQ. Have you tried doing it from your save game anew?
I've requested this be moved to the spoilers forum too

Thanks for a quick response! -
I have tried re-loading from an earlier save, but that does not work. Using the console cheat doesn't work either (I did mention that in the original post).
I know I do not need to close all the gates, but I am a bit of a completist! It will constantly bug me that there is a gate left!!

...plus, it is not just the closing of the gate - it is part of the other quest to try and rescue the Count's son. It may not affect the MQ, but I still want to find away to complete it.

hmmm, thats wierd. have you tried doing it from a clean save? Deactivating your mods,go in game, make a clean save. exit your game, and then restart, and reactivate your mods/

Well I tried that, and it didn't work - so it doesn't appear to be a mod conflict. I have found references to this problem elsewhere on the net, for both PC and Xbox360 versions, but no-one yet has come up with a solution.
I guess I'll just have to live with it for the moment. It has never happened before with earlier games, so if I start over with a new character, maybe it won't happen again...
Thanks for the suggestions though - much appreciated.
