Or you could just use FCOM helper for load orders, no calculating needed (for those mathimatically challenged like myself)

That said, as long as you activate the omod first, the ESP will show up in the CS as has been said already.

Will never use FCOM thanks.

Actually what I really needed, was the advice Shadowcran gave me in this quote:

Another trick is to use the Mod Manager to "convert to archive" anything you've made into an OMOD or downloaded as an OMOD. This makes a zipped copy of what all the OMOD contains, including meshes, textures, and the esp's/esm's. Simply right click the OMOD while in the mod manager and select "convert to archive". It doesn't transfer the data to this zipped file but copies it instead. Great for making backups.

That resolved the entire issue for me and works GREAT!

If I could give him 10 kudos for that, I Would!

Wasn't talking about FCOM, I'm talking about FCOM helper. It was originally built for FCOM but it's grown to the point of supporting the load orders of over 3000 mods. It's automatically set load orders for your mods, and generally it's correct. I've yet to run into any problems with the 120 mods I'm running after running FCOM helper after each install. Perhaps he should change the name of it to be less confusing. :)

I used FCOM helper long before I started using FCOM itself.

Edit: That said, I personally don't even understand how load orders work. I don't know what mods to load before which ones, just because of FCOM helper, I never had to learn. :D

yes, FCOM helper is a very good tool. The name is misleading. It was started to fix only the big overhaul mods and FCOM convergence load orders but encompasses a whole lot more. It's great for instantly sorting the load orders in a couple of seconds.

The Helper/loader reads a list in your data folder, made by the FCOM helper/loader called f_order.txt

On this list is over 3000 mods. It auto sorts the mods on the list, then approximates the ones not on the list. It works great, trust me.

FCOMhelper 25 Jun 08 - v1dot5 This one is 37kb download

and go ahead and download the 41 kb newest f_order.txt that was updated September 2.

Database 2 September 2008

I'm currently trying to help Random007, the creator of this, by finding the mods not on the list and expanding the database.

geez, my link didn't work right...oh well, I'll go back to the tried and true.

Both are on this page:

That's cool. As I said earlier in this thread, I do download the text file, and compare it to my own load orders from time to time, but I have found a whole lot of my plugins aren't on that list, probably because I'm not your average slash and bash type player, (and probably my being a female player has a lot to do with my personal choices differing from the popular ones chosen by a hobby dominated by male players). On top of that I'm very particular about allowing anything on my computer to do anything behind my back, if I can help it, and often I can.

There's no reason I can't look at the list for a quick comparison to see if anything I have is a potential trouble maker, and so far it's just been a nice double-check for me.

I noticed also, that it says in the readme to "back up your load order". Well I don't know how to do that, and right now I don't need to know how to do that. It might be nice to know, but I have plenty of other things that are a priority over finding that out. I didn't find an answer to that in 10 minutes of searching, and that's all anything gets to suck me dry at this point.

ah, to back up the load order, use Wrye Bash. Go to the top where it says "file" and right click, go to load and then on that tab go to save list. Then it'll ask you to name the list (For instance I've one titled "Finally got FCOM convergence going right, woohoo")

Since your tastes are female, you'll probably have more than the average "not covered by FCOM helper" which means you're in the unique position of helping out immensely coming up with a revised list for it. Contact Random007 and send over your list of those not covered. It'd help out a ton and when it's compiled, you'll be ready to use FCOM helper to it's max potential.

An easy way to actually find what's not covered is to run FCOM helper and those after the Bashed Patch(excluding Streamline and Deadly Reflex) are "unknown mods".

I knew you'd tell me how. :D

We'll see, if time allows.
