setstage DLC1VQ04 200
movetoqt DLC1VQ05
setstage DLC1VQ05 60
That ends the Chasing Echoes quest, moves you to Valerica, and sets the Beyond Death quest so that you have killed all the guardians (basically bypassing the Soul Cairn entirely). Everyone is correct that Serana does not come with you when you do the movetoqt, but if you set Beyond Death to stage 60, you don't need her anymore. Once you get the Elder Scroll and head back to Tamriel, she'll be there waiting for you. This worked well for me, hopefully it will get other people past the issue.

Hello everyone!
So i'm playing though Dawnguard, sided with the vampires. During the quest Chasing Echoes, i go up to Valerica's lab, do everything necessary to open the portal to the Soul Cairn. Serana bites her hand and pours her blood into the mixture. The portal opens all dramatic like and all. Then i get the quest stage "Enter the Soul Cairn". Great, i am a vampire lord, i can just waltz in, if i understand correctly, but sadly no. I saw in videos, that at the end of the staircase there appears a "To Soul Cairn" message, just like in any other door or portal. But it doesn't appear for me. I can't enter the SC. I tried messing with the quest stages, turning collision off and on and flying all around the castle, but the actual portal is missing. And i can't progress because of it.
I tried entering the Soul Cairn by an extremely roundabout way, i progressed my quest stages to the next step, ie "Beyond Death" and teleported to Juib with a "coc" command, but that didn't work. Serana didn't travel with me and Valerica didn't talk to me. So that attempt failed.
Do you have any ideas on how to fix this? I really don't want to just skip this part of the questline and add the scroll to my inventory, that'd be rather disappointing.
Any help will be appreciated!
I experienced the same problem as you did and tried the same alternatives with no avail. But, further research revealed a possible solution that works!. Heres what i did; After getting the quest update to speak with Serina ( the point where the portal should have opened ), i walked to the portal area and typed in the command tcl; which turns your collision off. Simply walk downward into the portal and you enter Soul Cairn. When in Soul Cairn type tcl once more to start your quest. Hope this helps.

i solved your problem without changing the DLC saving details
Just simply type "tcl" and walk through the invisible wall blocking you.
The portal behind the wall will automatically send you to soul cairn with no requirement even if you are not vampire or you don't have partly stored soul gem.
^^^ Edit: I didn't realize someone already solved your problem on the 2nd page, such a shame ....

I finally noticed after I had done some of the setstage things that I missed one that was "speak to serena" the first time that will cause her do what she needs to do to open the portal. If you have setstage to after this stage you'll have to load a previous save. If not, then you can (after adding the ingredients to the bow) setstage DLC1VQ04 80
I first skipped from 75 to 90 as that is what UESP said to do and it didn't work, it listed 80 as an "empty quest stage" but without completing it the portal won't open. After doing all setstage in order so they were all completed the "to soul cairn" appeared for me and i was able to enter as normal. Before nothing would appear and I would just hit a wall as you described.
Hopefully this helps.

setstage DLC1VQ04 80 yup, this completed the "speak to serana" part and made the "to soul cairn" text appear to the portal even thought i was already at the stage 90, portal open & vampire.

I have no clue if this will work, but try entering into console: "coc soulcairn" or something to that effect. If that doesn't work, try "help soulcairn" or "help cairn" then type coc then whatever the game calls the soul cairn. hope that helps.
