When in Skyrim, computer shuts down

Recommended Posts

I read about your PSU incident, Aegrus. :ohdear: I was glad to see all you had to do was replace the PSU and that it hadn't caused other problems. I've had that happen, too, on that older two core I have. I'm thinking it's the PSU after reading all the comments, so I'm packing it up today and sending it to IBuyPower for them to fix. BTW, IBuyPower has been very responsive to my inquiries, which was a pleasant and welcome surprise. Edited by FastBlackCat

If the gpu/cpu temps are under 80c, there shouldnt be any problems.

You could check gpu vrm temps but i doubt thats the problem.

Overclocks? The temps tell me no, so the problem may be the psu.

Which psu do you have? If its some chinese pos then that may be the problem (or your mobo is near death)

That doesn't sound like overheating. 50-60 degrees is average.

My guess would be an insufficient psu.

Wattage and model (or at least the wattage and the company name)?

I believe OP has mod issue. Skyrim has some difficulty when it comes to removing mods heavy with scripts (for those who try mods and don't like them or remove them because of CTD issues ETC..).

Have you tried a NEW save game?

If so, do you get "insta-OFF" during playthru?
