This seems like a huge embarrassment to Bethesda, the DLC has been out for a long time now. I've tried everything, still getting the freeze with windows error sound, and have to end task Skyrim. Humorous remarks aside, just ran into this problem myself, and no suggested fix have worked so far (been to other forums as well). I hope someone has found a fix during the time passed since this topic was created, and that that special someone sees this!
