I pray that they finally make some children NPCs that have different faces.

Sounds like Beth wants to get into the modding end of things, many very talented people and a lot of we hacks have been adding depth, diversity and a lot of ingenuity to their platforms. Isn't this close to buying more building blocks? Next up the CK is free by we'll be buying meshes to load into it....?

The Video should start by: Inspired by all the great modders out there for doing this before us, we thank them. Apart from my comment it looks really nice.

as already pointed out most of the things in this exist in one form or another either on the nexus or steam workshop its nothing more than a cash grab aimed at the numbskulls who got Skyrim on Xbox and PS3

I'm just wondering why they called it Hearthfire... after a fireplace/hearth? Or after the Tamrielic holiday? Bit of a weird name for a house mod...
Maybe it's all a big cover-up, to lure us into a state of false alarm... but I highly doubt it.

Skyrim isn't going to become the Sims because of this DLC... it would require Origin to play if that was the case.
...AND for all of you who say this was a stolen idea from the modding community: Watch the game jam.

Looks cool to me, been playing around with making a house mod or using different one and can never quite get the right feel or joy from making something myself in game. Will be nice to be sidetracked to look after the estate.
Read on BSg Twitter that this is something much smaller than they had planned for DLC's but thought enough people would enjoy it, hence the lower price and short period between announce and release. Looking forward to creating my own estate, not so much adopting kids though and looking forward to see what a fuller DLC is next.

I was gonna say Dawnguard is pretty awesome don't get me wrong but there are a lot of mods on nexus that added a lot more content to the game. Dawnguard was not like expansions of the past ... i hope bethesda is not falling into the same trap that ea and blizzard have fallen into . And yes ps3 user should get dawnguard before hearthfire hit shelves ... isn't the month hearthfire related to nocturnal and necromancy in some way

i don't know... if they want to concentrate on the non-lore, non-equipment, non-combat aspect of game they should widen the profession types (merchant - the one i would love, healer - not so bad, some crafter (blacksmith/carpenter/etc), collector (hunter/miner/herb gatherer), or courier), with good scripting, challenging and reasonable demands, economy, and meaningful missions/contracts, and, of course, you could influence the world that way, somehow.
