....the modders on the Nexus might be top notch but Bethesda has far larger possibilities with a talanted group and loads of time on their hand as this is their job.....

Disagree.

What does that mean? You disagree with the quoted statement how?

You know, modders wouldn't be able to produce the stuff they do if Beth hadn't created a game with a frame work to allow us to produce them.

I'd advise re-reading that last sentence.

well if i remember right oly the two first dlc will be xbox exclusive for 30 days and after that they will be relativly short after eachother and so maybe this is just a way to get away from the exlusive thingy ?

Explaining my disagreement in detail would create off-topic situation here. So i kept it short and simple, expressed my opinion in a single word about the quoted part. And please know it is not only me, many others out there think similarly.

Right, so, I'm still completely unclear on what you disagree with in the quote, lets break it down (others feel free to ignore this post and skip to the next entry...).

"....the modders on the Nexus might be top notch but Bethesda has far larger possibilities with a talanted group and loads of time on their hand as this is their job....."

Do you disagree that:

1) The Modders in Nexus are top notch?
or
2) Bethesda has a talented group?
or
3) Bethesda has loads of time on their hands to do the job?"

They're the possible 3 things you could be disagreeing with.

Why do some of you people care so much. Its only a dlc for a game. why be so negative? shouldnt you be happy they are bringing more content, sure, modders may have brought one out first, doesnt mean they started it first and saying bestheda stole there ideas...from Bethesdas game. Bethseda lets you mod the game for a reason. If you dont want it dont buy it simple. and stop complaining cuz maybe some positive comments would be nice to read on these forums. i inturn think its a great idea, more stable, bigger, adds more improvements and plenty of hours im of customizing so it can be perfect im sure.

"First only the PC has modding possibilities, what about PS3 and Xbox 360, can't we be a bit happy for the fact that they get something like this."

Who cares about them? People are upset about the DLC because PC has had MULTIPLE buildable houses of good quality for some time. The money they spend on Beth's games is turned against us as bribe dollars, so really idk why anyone here cares what they think or want. They also put up with paid peer to peer multiplayer, on-disc day one DLC, forced console updates that put in ads and/or take out features, and maps copy/pasted from the last brown shooter in the franchise being sold as DLC. Have you ever stopped to consider the signals the console market is sending publishers? HINT: They aren't good ones.

Why is there this expectation that we should have any kind of sympathy for the console players? Every dollar spent by a console gamer is a dollar used by Microsoft and/or Sony to bribe devs to delay and cancel not only PC content but BUGFIXES (one week delay for critical Battlefield 3 patches -- including fixes to game-breaking exploits -- "thanks Sony PS3 is da best XD"). MS also pays devs to use GFWL, targeting high-profile releases and especially games that are "better on PC" like Bethesda games and the new Batman games.

I'm upset because this DLC is basically wasted development effort for me, since I've been using Build Your Own Home for months and loving it. I honestly don't care if the console market has access to that content or not since they choose to support companies that are literally as bad as EA and Actiblizzard, but I don't want Bethesda spending resources on it when they could be developing story-heavy DLCs with new gameplay mechanics (VL, crossbows) and full voice acting like Dawnguard (read: projects that are very difficult for modders and require big, dedicated teams).

personally, I do not view this as a bad thing, No matter how good modders are, they always hit certain limitations on more advanced things. This will add new content that modders may build off of and create stronger foundations for new and different parts of the game which may not have been otherwise possible.

Our current mods in such areas are already quite good, but if resources from this can be used, tweaked and built off as well, imagine how much better they could be. And who knows? some clever modder out there may be able to use a few things in ways totally different from their roots.

so wait, this was their first game jam, I was under the impression that they had others and just kept them private

that makes me excited for future beth games, as I don't think anyone but the most cynical persone can say that the jam wasn't a good idea and a huge success

I can only imagine what the next fallout game will turn out like

To follow up, I recognize that Bethesda had the idea for built houses in their presentation. I have no problem with Bethesda adding them in. I have a problem with them making it its own DLC. Their attention should be focused on what most modders can't do because of team sizes / time constraints / etc, which is story with new mechanics and full V/O.
